About me and my therapy practice
I think we sometimes come to therapy not knowing exactly what it is that's causing us pain. Maybe we feel fear, anger, confusion or just a sense of detachment from who we feel we used to be or could be; sometimes it is only symptoms (such as addictions, eating disorders, OCD) which we can identify. Past, unaddressed, trauma may be arsing or you might be experiencing family or work issues or, maybe, you’re in grief (from a death/relationship breakdown). Whatever your reason for wanting therapy I know that, ultimately, we want to feel better than we do right now.Practice description
Making sense of feelings is challenging and, having been through it myself, I know it can be really difficult. But, by working with me, change will happen, resulting in an alleviation of pain/ symptoms and relationships. My first session
My first session differs from subsequent ones in that I’ll be asking a lot of questions in the form of an assessment. We may get through this is the first session but we also might need more time if certain issues were expanded on. I have found that allowing the assessment to take as much time as needed aids the work that follows, an environment of taking the space and time that works for you.
