About me and my therapy practice
We can find ourselves living a life that does not bring joy or fulfilment, but we continue to put one foot in front of the other in the hope that something might eventually change. This where therapy can help.
I offer a calm, safe, non-judgemental space in which you can explore and share whatever is troubling you, whether it is counselling a short term, specific issue or psychotherapy for deeper rooted issues. Therapy is a process and change takes time so the amount of sessions you may need will vary accordingly, and can be discussed at assessment.
Practice description
What can you expect from me. I will provide a safe environment with regular appointment times, so that together we can explore your issues. I will maintain confidentiality, be non-judgemental, open and honest. I have been described as warm, friendly and also believe that humour has a place in therapy (it doesn't always have to be heavy)
Together we can share laughter/tears (where appropriate) and more often that not over a cuppa. I will not use your time to discuss my issues or seek a friendship with you outside of therapy, you will be at the centre of the work at all times.
My first session
Our first meeting will be a brief informal chat (usually by phone) to decide if I am the right person to help you. After this our first session will be arranged, I like to offer clients a regular, weekly time slot.
On our first session we will complete the necessary paperwork which includes your personal details, a short assessment and a contract that outlines the details of our working agreement
