About me and my therapy practice
Hi, my name is Martin and I have been a qualified counsellor since 2018.
I'm non-judgemental and work with my clients agenda and desired goals in mind. I specialise in bereavement, trauma, depression and anxiety. I also work with individuals, couples and families covering a broad range of other issues including family, marital and relationship guidance, coping skills, coaching and play therapy.
What is Counselling/Psychotherapy
Counselling/Psychotherapy offers a safe, caring and respectful relationship in which you are offered the space to explore self in ways which feel comfortable for you. Counselling can help with a wide range of issues including relationships, work-related matters, loneliness, sexuality, spirituality, low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, abuse, trauma, illness, loss and bereavement.
How do I work?
Taking the first steps in reaching out is often the hardest thing to do, and I believe that it is important that you find the right therapist. I offer a free 10 minute telephone consultation to establish your goals and needs so that I can be sure that I am able to help you and for you to check me out to see if you feel comfortable working with me.
Furthermore, I offer an initial assessment session at a reduced session cost.
I'm accepting, respectful, down to earth, compassionate, and empathic and my approach is providing my clients with the right and individual conditions for change.
What experience do I have?
I have ran my own my practice since 2018 working with adults, young people, couples and families who have come to counselling for a variety of different reasons.
Alongside private practice I've had 5 years of loss and grief experience working within a Hospice which involved working with pre and post bereavement, supporting patients, relatives and bereaved clients.
In addition, I also worked within a hospice offering short term online support to patients during and post pandemic.
Practice description
My counselling room is located in the same building as Northwich Physiotherapy and Treatment, where there are lots of other holistic therapies as well as Pilates and other businesses. I have my own private room which is used purely for counselling and is a very private and comfortable place where I'm sure you'll feel at ease.
There is plenty of onsite free parking, a ramp for wheelchair access and there are toilets on site.
My first session
In the first session we'll get to know each other and go through some basic paperwork around contact information and privacy. I'll explain in more detail how I work as you settle in and I'll ask what has brought you to counselling. You only need to tell me whatever you feel comfortable telling me and we'll look at what you might like to get out of our counselling sessions.
