About me and my therapy practice
People seek psychotherapy for many different reasons. These might relate to relationships, questions relating to sex, gender, experiences of loss, trauma, intrusive thoughts, compulsions, self-destructive behaviours, lack of confidence, experiences of depression and anxiety. Psychoanalytic therapy invites speech both about making changes or simply to think through a troubling experience. Our work together will aim to help you explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, and address issues that may be troubling you.
At the core of my clinical practice is my belief that our early environment shapes us on an unconscious level, sometimes causing us to repeat patterns of behaviour which may bring distress. In my practice, I offer a confidential space to speak freely and explore the particular questions that bring you to therapy.
Practice description
I am an accredited member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), and registered member of the BACP. After training in Integrative Psychotherapy, I have pursued further psychoanalytic training and continue to engage widely in continued clinical development. This forms a critical part of my formation as a practitioner.
I also manage a low-cost counselling organisation in North London.
My first session
I usually suggest we meet for at least one assessment session or a number of sessions to discuss the issues that bring you to therapy and agree a way to proceed. This is also for you to gather a sense of how I work and how we might work together.
The cost of assessment sessions are £80.
Fees for ongoing work will be agreed during the assessment process.
Sessions typically last 50 minutes. The frequency and cost of our sessions may vary as in some cases meeting more frequently may be more productive. Once we agree to work together, I expect you to attend the sessions consistently.
