About me and my therapy practice
I am a professional qualified psychotherapist and counsellor, trained to listen and help you explore and reflect on issues such as anxiety, panic, stress, anger, low self-esteem and depression.
I offer individual counselling for adults, children from age 4 to young adults, where work is adapted and use of creative methods and play with younger clients.
I am a cognitive behaviour therapist but have adapted my style to include many counselling skills including psychodynamic and attachment that can help the client get to the deeper and inner issue, and gain a greater self awareness. I also use ACT as well as mindfulness.
My role as a counsellor is to help support clients by providing a safe and nurturing environment where they feel heard, accepted and able to explore thoughts and feelings. I will work with you to identify the issues which are causing you distress and will work with you to resolve them.
I worked for a sexual abuse charity, and have experience from extra training in health anxiety and fertility and pregnancy issues as well as working in primary and secondary schools. I currently work 3 days in schools and maintain a private practice where I work with both adults and children privately. I work with post pregnancy traumas counselling new mums traumatic births , still birth and baby loss for both mums and/or partners.
I have worked extensively in my private practice with clients with a medical background, from GP, consultants, psychologist and nurses.
As well as the BACP I am a member of BICA (British Infertility Counselling Association)
