About me and my therapy practice
Thanks for visiting my profile. I feel passionately about working with and empowering clients in the best way possible to move forward in life, supporting you to find resolution to whatever difficulties are troubling you which have brought you to counselling.
Over the years I have observed how anybody can be affected by traumatic life changing events at any time. Often we do not seek help until reaching a point where we feel so overwhelming we recognise that something needs to change You may have a specific problem for which you are seeking help, or you may feel troubled but are not sure why.
I have a special interest in supporting clients experiencing anxiety, depression, disordered eating and eating disorders, lack of confidence/self esteem, life transitions inc bereavement, redundancy, divorce, loss, relocation, relationship difficulties and supporting clients on an emotional level with physical health conditions.
In couples therapy you will be encouraged to openly share your concerns regarding your relationship with your partner in a safe, comfortable non-judgemental environment. Together we will focus on gaining clarity about what you both want from your relationship. You will learn skills to improve communication between you both, and gain an understanding of your partner and their needs within your relationship.
In addition to working in private practice I have volunteered as counsellor with SWEDA Eating Disorder Team and a Bereavement Support Team.
I have always felt passionately about supporting people through difficult and challenging times. For many years I worked in the NHS as medical secretary for in a mental health team before setting up in private practice as a complementary therapist in 2013, where my special interest has been supporting people whose mental and emotional health has impacted on their physical health.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like a free informal appointment to explore how I may be able to help you.
