About me and my therapy practice

Thanks for visiting my profile.  I feel passionately about working in collaboration with and empowering clients in the best way possible to move forward in life, supporting you to find resolution to whatever difficulties are troubling you which have brought you to counselling.

I appreciate how much courage it can take to make contact and wish to reassure you that I offer a safe space where you will feel supported, listened to, treated with respect, empathy and without judgement. As an integrative counsellor I am able to work creatively incorporating a number of different approaches individually tailored to best suit your needs.

Over the years I have observed how anybody can be affected by traumatic life changing events at any time. Often we do not seek help until reaching a point where we feel so overwhelming we recognise that something needs to change You may have a specific problem for which you are seeking help, or you may feel troubled but are not sure why.

I have a special interest in supporting clients experiencing anxiety, depression, eating disorders, lack of confidence/poor self esteem, life transitions such as bereavement, redundancy, divorce, loss, relocation, relationship difficulties and supporting clients on an emotional level with physical health conditions.

In couples therapy you will be encouraged to openly share your concerns regarding your relationship with your partner in a safe, comfortable non-judgemental environment.  Together we will focus on gaining clarity about what you both want from your relationship. You will learn skills to improve communication between you both, and gain an understanding of your partner and their needs within your relationship.

In addition to working in private practice I volunteered as a counsellor with SWEDA Eating Disorder Team and a Bereavement Support Team.

Practice description

I offer a safe space where you will feel supported, listened to, treated with respect, empathy and without judgement. As an integrative counsellor I am able to work creatively incorporating a number of different approaches individually tailored to best suit your needs.

Qualifications include Advanced Diploma in Counselling, Master Practitioner in Eating Disorders (National Centre for Eating Disorders) and Advanced Certificate in Relationship Therapy.

I am an EMDR therapist, having trained with the EMDR Academy. Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing is an effective therapeutic approach designed to support clients to process and heal from trauma and distressing memories

I have always felt passionately about supporting people through difficult and challenging times. For many years I worked in the NHS as medical secretary to a psychiatrist and team before setting up in private practice as a complementary therapist in 2013, where my special interest has been supporting people whose mental and emotional health has impacted on their physical health.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like a free informal discussion to explore how I may be able to help you.
