About me and my therapy practice
As an experienced professional, I will provide you with a safe and confidential space. Together we can consider your individual goals for therapy sessions. We can explore your thoughts and feelings so that you can develop a better understanding of yourself. I will help you to explore possible solutions to problems, make effective changes or find better ways of coping.
I offer a Person Centered approach which is based on the view that everyone has the capacity and desire for personal growth and change given the right conditions. These conditions include creating an environment where you feel safe and not judged and where the therapeutic relationship we develop is authentic.
Practice description
I work regularly in a trauma informed way with those who have experienced domestic abuse and or sexual abuse or violence at any point in their lives.
I am a sessional therapist working with Barnardos LINK. I have a certificate in Adoption Support Counselling which qualifies me to work with adults affected by adoption in any way.
My other role as a Mental Health Mentor, is working with university students in receipt of Disabled Students Allowance. I have experience working with those who have a disability or are neurodiverse.
My first session
Once you get in touch we can discuss working together. I offer a 20min free of charge telephone call or video introductory session. If you want to proceed after this we can then agree on an individual contract and complete a full assessment. Counselling sessions last for 50 minutes. I offer video and telephone counselling as well as face to face sessions in a dedicated counselling room at my home.
