About me and my therapy practice
Hello, and thanks for viewing my profile. There are so many reasons to seek counselling support – maybe you’re feeling overwhelmed by your thoughts and feelings, struggling with stress, anxiety or low mood, needing to move on from trauma or loss. Whatever is challenging you, I may be able to provide support.
I offer one-to-one counselling to young people aged 13 years and over, and to adults of all ages. I’m an experienced person-centred counsellor who sometimes draws on and integrates other approaches, strategies and techniques into my work. We are all unique individuals with different needs, so I will work collaboratively with you to find the best way to support you in the counselling process.
I provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space and aim to build a strong therapeutic relationship with you, where you can discuss, explore and make sense of your thoughts and feelings, achieve personal growth and change, and feel empowered to move forward in the direction that you choose, at your own pace. I have extensive experience of working with neurodiversity in adults and young people. I am gender affirming.
My qualifications include
- Level 5 Diploma in Counselling (University of Cumbria)
- Certificate in Outdoor Therapy
- Certificate in Online Counselling
- Level 5 CPCAB Certificate in Counselling Children & Young People.
- I am an accredited member of the BACP
Additionally, I continue to increase my skills and knowledge by attending regular training and professional development courses covering a wide range of topics.
Practice description
- Face to face sessions take place in the therapy room at Bab'yama Wellness Hub, Berwick-upon-Tweed.
- If you enjoy the benefits of being outdoors and in nature I also offer “walk & talk” therapy in Berwick-upon-Tweed, Coldstream and Kelso.
- Video and telephone counselling sessions are available to anyone who is a UK resident.
My first session
I offer a free 20 minute telephone consultation where you can tell me why you'd like to access counselling support and what you’d like to achieve. I will ask you a few questions to help me decide if I’m the best counsellor to meet your needs, and answer any questions you may have. I will also encourage you to take some time to think about whether or not you’re happy to work with me as your counsellor.
Should you decide to go ahead then we’ll discuss whether you’d like face-to-face or online therapy and we'll book sessions accordingly. During our first appointment, before counselling can begin, I’ll spend some time finding out more about you and your current situation. In doing this we will begin to build the strong therapeutic relationship which is essential for counselling to be effective.

About me and my therapy practice
Hello, and thank you for visiting my profile.
I am an experienced BACP Accredited counsellor working from an integrative approach with a person-centred foundation. I work with adults, children and young people, with a specialist training in counselling CYP. My supervisory training also included a focus on the specific issues which arise for those of us working with young people. As a supervisor my approach is relational and I draw from several supervision models to inform my practice.
I am passionate about my work and aim to create a supportive and collaborative space where you can safely explore all aspects of your client work with me.
Practice description
I offer supervision to trainee and qualified therapists, counsellors, pastoral support staff and those in the helping professions. Key to both my counselling and supervisory work is building a strong therapeutic relationship.
As your supervisor I will work collaboratively with you, supporting you with your personal development, client work, ethical dilemmas and how your work impacts you as an individual.
If you'd like to have a "no obligation" initial chat please contact me.
