About me and my therapy practice
I offer a human connection that is authentic, warm, friendly and attentive.
I strive to provide a welcoming and supportive environment that helps people to work through issues they would like to overcome.
When problems feel overwhelming and become unmanageable, it can be helpful to speak to someone who is objective, empathetic and non-judgemental. Engaging in counselling can help decrease stress and anxiety and in turn can increase self-confidence, assertiveness, resilience, and lead to a greater connection to yourself and others.
My way of working is based in the person-centred approach, which is focused on individual needs. By actively working together, we can consider your needs and enable you to reach what you want for yourself.
My approach to counselling is integrative, so that I can adapt to suit each individual person. This is usually an intuitive process, which also involves input from the client, so that we jointly make the decision on how we would like to work together. I am also trained in Mindfulness, which can provide a set of helpful tools to manage challenges in everyday life.
Please visit my website for more detailed information about my qualifications, the way I work and FAQs.
Practice description
I offer face-to-face counselling in a cosy and relaxing therapy room based in High Barnet (EN5). The premises are tucked away off the High Street in Chipping Barnet, leading towards Hadley Wood. The location is within a short driving distance from Arkley, New Barnet, Finchley, Potters Bar and other part of Hertfordshire. There are several bus routes that lead to the High Street and High Barnet Tube Station (Northern Line) is a 10 minute walk away.
Please visit my website for more details and/or if you would like to see photos of the room.
Regular sessions take place at the same day and time every week. They start on the hour and last for 50 minutes.
I offer short-term as well as long-term counselling. As with the counselling goals, the ending is decided by you and it can be helpful to plan the ending as part of the therapeutic process.
My first session
I understand that you may be feeling apprehensive about starting counselling. I offer a free telephone/online video consultation before the first session to provide more details and answer any questions you may have.
There is no expectation that you have to commit to counselling, and I treat the first session as a way of us to get to know each other and see if our expectations of working together are matched. We will complete an assessment where we explore aspects such lifestyle, emotional and physical well-being, previous experiences of counselling and specific issues that you would like to talk about.
I charge £30 for the first session and £65 for all other consecutive counselling sessions.
