About me and my therapy practice
The experiences we have early in our lives can often impact our view of the world and ourselves as adults. We may place unhealthy expectations on ourselves or view ourselves in an overly negative light.
As an integrative psychotherapist I have trained within three different modalities; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Attachment Theory and Person-Centred Therapy. However, I also utilise techniques from other schools of counselling such as Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Gestalt Therapy and Schema Therapy.
I work with clients with a wide range of presenting issues but also specialise in addiction counselling. I have experience and knowledge surrounding several different models of addiction treatment and believe there is no one size fits all when it comes to recovery. Everybody’s journey is subjective to them and I can help you to find what works for you.
Practice description
I can offer you a safe, compassionate and non-judgemental environment in which I can help you to achieve the goals you set yourself at the start of our journey together.
My first session
Before we start together I offer a brief phone call (free) to better understand the presenting issue and then I have a 50 minute assessment with my clients (charged at my sessional rate). The assessment is so I can better understand what you are coming to therapy for and gain and good historical background of the issue.
