About me and my therapy practice
Thank you and a very warm welcome to Falling into Place Counselling Services by Jackie Shaw.
I have a considerable number of years experience working for local charities as a Counsellor for anyone who has experienced any form of historical or recent sexual violence, along with varying other issues, such as eating disorders, depression, anxiety, stress, just to specify a small few, I have also been a Life-Coach / Mentor to young offenders, offering support on ways to progress, and I am now in my own private practice.
If you’ve made it here to looking at my profile then you’ve already made that decision to make a change in your life, this journey is ‘your journey’, I am not here to give you a quick solution or to offer advice, but to help guide you along ‘your journey’ by listening without judgement and help you to get to a different more free way of being, being accepted and listened to uninterrupted sometimes only happens in therapy, this is your place, your time, and your unique journey.
I have worked with clients who have experienced a varying range of issues and know that everyone deals with experiences differently, in their own way. It’s when these experiences impact negatively on our lives that we sometimes need that helping hand. I realise that people can find it very difficult to come and speak about their experiences, not everyone finds talking easy, which is why I can offer a more creative way of working together for anyone that may need this.
I offer counselling support in safe, comfortable and confidential surroundings, I have a flexible approach and I am able to offer short or long term counselling, the choice is yours.
As an integrated therapist, I use various counselling theories and recognise that we are all unique individuals, meaning not every theory/therapy is a one fits all. Sometimes a more varied approach is needed, and I am able to offer these services for children from age 4, to adolescents, and adults.
Practice description
We will work through your journey together, I usually offer weekly one to one sessions, but I am flexible and we can discuss your needs on our first meeting. On our first meeting I am happy for you to bring someone along for support, but then our sessions thereafter would be one to one, I would encourage you to come and meet me, to see if you feel we would be able to work together and progress on’ your journey’.
By being here reading this you have taken the first big step on your journey, and I would like to thank you for stopping by and look forward to meeting some of you. A little thought to remember, everything in life happens for a reason, if we seek the help this can pass and last for just for a season.
