About me and my therapy practice
We all have times in our lives when we feel unable to cope and day to day life is just too much. Sometimes we know exactly why we feel like this and want some support while we work through it, but other times we may need extra help to work out what's going on for us.I offer a safe, warm and accepting space where we can explore these issues at a pace that suits you. We will work together to help you gain perspective, understanding and work towards any goals, until you feel equipped and able to move forward on your own.
Whatever situation you find yourself in, I will be here to work with you confidentially and respectfully.
I know how hard it is to take the first step and reach out for help, so if you've read this far, please feel free to contact me for an informal chat and to see if therapy is the way forward for you.
Practice description
My name is Amanda and I work with an integrative approach, which means I can draw from a toolbox of theories and approaches that suit and benefit you as an individual.
My sessions are client led, so you won't feel pressured to disclose anything you aren't comfortable with.
I am available for online sessions and face to face where Covid-19 regulations and precautions are met.
I have experience working in various different fields, including but not exhaustive, in bereavement, domestic violence, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, sexuality and self-esteem.
I have worked with older teenagers, adults and the elderly as well as families.
I currently work from a clean, discreet room near Maldon and have flexible sessions available.
My first session
I am always happy to have an informal chat before you decide to commit to therapy. I also offer a free 30 minute initial phone consultation where you can outline what you are hoping to achieve from therapy and if I can help you.
Your first session with me will be held at a mutually convenient time (either online or in person) and will cost £45. This will give us both the opportunity to discuss in more detail what you are looking for and what I can offer you. You are not obligated to book any subsequent sessions.
I can be contacted on 07903643649. Where I am unable to take your call, please leave a message letting me know a good time to get back to you. Alternatively, you can email me at amandathomsontherapy@gmail.com
