About me and my therapy practice
I’m Kat, a qualified integrative psychotherapist working online and via email with adults across the UK.
I offer a calm, relational space to help you explore what’s going on for you — whether that’s anxiety, overwhelm, family or parenting struggles, or simply feeling stuck or unsure.
I have a special interest in working with neurodivergent clients and those in neurodivergent families. I understand the unique challenges that can arise in navigating life, relationships and identity in a world built for neurotypical experiences.
How I Work
I take a holistic and collaborative approach to therapy. This means we won’t just look at what’s going wrong — we’ll explore the wider context of your life, your strengths, and how past experiences might still be shaping the present.
As your therapist, I offer space to reflect, tools to regulate your nervous system, and support to reconnect with your inner confidence and clarity. You don’t need to have the “right” words — just a willingness to explore, and I’ll meet you there.
Common Issues I Work With Include:
- Stress and anxiety
- Parenting and relationship challenges
- Navigating neurodivergence (including late diagnosis)
- Trauma and emotional regulation
- Low self-esteem and burnout
- Life transitions and identity
Practice description
I started my private practice, at home in Blackburn, because I could see many people, especially parents of neurodiverse children and those with an a-typical family set up, struggling with the challenges that life was throwing at them.
This left them feeling isolated, unheard, and not good enough.
But it’s possible to gain confidence in meeting your own needs and those of the people you share your life with the right support in place.
I have over 5 years experience in private practice, working with a wide range of people who have had relationship and communication difficulties, or have events in their past that have been affecting their present. Prior to this I worked for organisations supporting people through sexual and domestic abuse, so I understand all the complications that relationships can have.
With my own personal experience of being a parent to a neurodiverse child, I know how it feels to be trying to work out how to tackle the challenges that life is throwing at you, with no clear way forward. Therapy can help you to identify what you want and need, and figure out a way to make that happen in your life.
I have helped many people to figure out how to get the life they want, and I can help you to do that too.
I have an MA in Integrative Psychotherapy from the University of Central Lancashire. I am currently completing a Specialist Diploma in Neurodiversity Informed Practice. I regularly complete CPD that is relevant to my work and I keep up to date with current trends in the world of psychology and therapy. My work before becoming a therapist has made me aware of the great diversity of situations and challenges that can occur in communities, such as blended families and co-parenting, and social isolation.
Previous clients have said that I have helped them to develop the knowledge and skills they needed in a safe and compassionate space, free of judgement.
So please email me to book an initial consultation, I would love to hear from you.
My first session
For video therapy, I offer a free initial 30 minute consultation session.
In the initial session, we will contract for how we will work and discuss what your goals are for therapy. This is the point at which we begin to get to know one another. Ensuring that you feel informed and comfortable with the process is a priority.
If you are then happy to proceed, we will discuss scheduling and any other practicalities.
