About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced integrative psychotherapist, trained in psychology, counselling and psychotherapy.
I hold a postgraduate diploma in integrative psychotherapy and I am a registered member of both the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and BPS (British Psychological Society).
As an integrative practitioner, I work with a broad range of adult clients, able to tailor our sessions to whatever concerns or circumstances you feel you may need help with.
Practice description
Starting therapy can be a daunting process and you may not even be sure on exactly what you hope to gain from it. Often people have gone through therapy many times having never really felt they found the right 'fit' or it was able to do what they needed it needed to.
I see the therapeutic relationship as one of the most vital components of successful therapy and I am therefore happy to answer any questions and have a discussion about what you want to get from therapy before making any commitments.
As an integrative psychotherapist, I also aim to work in a way that 'integrates' a broad range of more exploratory and in-depth therapeutic models and approaches that may often go overlooked in other perspectives. Although this often requires more of an investment of time, emotion, and of course finance, it does, however, offer the potential for more powerful, effective and long lasting change.
Areas of expertise and experience include: anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relational issues, childhood trauma, personality disorders, bereavement and loss, politics of mental health.
My first session
I offer a free telephone consultation to help us decide if working together will be right for you and this will last approximately half an hour.
Sessions are confidential, typically weekly, and one full hour.
On your first session we will contract for how we will work together and look at your goals for therapy.
The number of sessions required is dependent upon many factors, including your choice and what you feel you may need.
You are not tied into any amount of sessions and we will look at our work together regularly to ensure you are getting what you need and getting the most out of therapy.
