Finding a therapist who you feel comfortable with is important. If you would like to know more about counselling sessions, how I work, or to see if I can help, reach out today to organise a free introductory call.

I work during the day Monday to Thursday as well as Monday and Tuesday evenings (depending on availability). I work online.

About me and my therapy practice

I'm Beth and I work with women who feel lost, trapped, or disconnected due to past traumatic or adverse experiences.

If this is something that resonates with you, I want you to know that I see you and hear you and I would love to help. It is also important to say that I know it can be hard to reach out and ask for help, so I will support you every step of the way and you will set the pace.

I have been helping women who have experienced trauma adversity with their transformation and renewal for over five years.

As well as helping you process what has happened and supporting you to deal with the possible Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, anxiety or depression that it has caused, I can help you to discover what you want for yourself, rather than what society or others have told you that you want or need. If you have experienced emotional abuse, discrimination, childhood neglect, abandonment, loss, sexual abuse, domestic violence, bullying, medical trauma or any other trauma or adverse experience it is understandable that you need a safe space to work out how to move forward and have someone to support you. I believe it is possible to break the patterns that emerge after trauma, loss, or adversity as I have seen it many times in my practice. I know that hope can start to grow in the most difficult of circumstances.

I believe it is very important to offer a safe and nurturing space for people to explore their healing journey so this is what I do. Warmth and compassion are very much part of my therapy as I know that some people haven't always experienced this in their lives. I believe that warmth and compassion can facilitate healing and growth.

Practice description

As I’m an integrative counsellor I have many techniques that can help you in your healing journey and and, as mentioned, we will go at a pace that is right for you. It is a collaborative process and I want to hear from you about what works and what doesn’t. Here are some the ways I can help you gain or regain your freedom and identity:

• I can help you identify, understand, and change the detrimental patterns that may have developed due to a traumatic childhood, adverse relationships, or conditioning from society.

• I understand how trauma is stored in the body and can help you to process that trauma.

• I work creatively and can help you to understand and express yourself through art, writing, metaphor and other creative interventions.

• If you are prone to living in the past or future, I can support you in learning to live in the here and now which is incredibly important for living a meaningful and enjoyable life.

• So many of us get stuck in our head: I can help you to bring together body and mind and discover the things your body is trying to tell you.

• I can help you to cultivate self-compassion which can be so sadly lacking when you have experienced trauma.

I also offer Eye Movement Desensitisation and Regulation Therapy (EMDR). EMDR helps us to focus on three time periods: the past, the present and the future. As well as helping us to process the distressing memories, it can help us to move forward with more helpful beliefs about ourselves. If you would like more information about this please ask.

I am an accredited counsellor with five years experience in private practice and I can offer a safe and nurturing space, either in person (OX3), or online, to focus on your agenda so that you can live the authentic and meaningful life you would like to live.
