About me and my therapy practice
It can be possible to feel confused and overwhelmed in our current times. Does life seem increasingly complex and challenging? Do you struggle to make sense of life events? Perhaps, as a result, you end up feeling anxious, confused, and isolated. Under the impact of adversity, and to cope, we can develop unhealthy beliefs and attitudes toward ourselves and others that create false evidence. Unchallenged this can reinforce practices that further isolate and disillusion you further.
In therapy, we can learn what happens for you in life and create together alternative ways of relating that are life-enhancing, to offer you freedom in shaping your life and developing further resources. In this process, I will offer you a safe space to enhance your ability to think about yourself and to build new resources so that you are better equipped to make the changes you wish and deal productively with the challenges of life.
Hello, My name is Swar. I am a qualified and UKCP-accredited psychotherapist.
As a Transactional Analyst, I believe that we are hurt in relationship, and that we also heal in relationship.
We can work together on psychological and emotional issues that include Depression, Anxiety, OCD, Trauma, Gender identity issues, LGBTQ+ issues, Bereavement, Loss, Work related issues, divorce, Isolation, Addictions, Abuse, and Anger.
Practice description
When we work together, we will meet once a week. Our sessions will be 50 minutes long.
You can come to see me if:
1 - You experience relationship issues.
2 - You have experienced loss, or bereavement such as death, illness, or job loss, and would like to speak to someone in confidence.
3 - You experience low moods, feel isolated, anxiety, panic attacks, or depression.
4 - You wish to work with Gender diversity, or sexual identity issues GSRD/LGBTQA+.
5 - You have experienced a trauma, like an accident, or been involved in a sudden uncontrollable event. You may be unable to process what has happened on your own and would like support.
6 - You would like to explore and develop your identity while holding, or straddling different cultures.
My first session
You may wonder about how I work, or feel a little apprehensive about taking the step of starting therapy. This is why I offer an introductory telephone call of up to 20 minutes for free. This will be an opportunity for us to speak and for you to ask any questions you may have. I will ask some questions to understand what brings you to therapy. I may tell you a little about how I work and what to expect. I will also answer your questions as best as I can. We can then arrange our initial session, where you can see where we will work. I will use the time to ask some in-depth questions about you and think about how we can work together. It will become apparent if we can continue to work together by the end of that session.
