About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified, BACP registered integrative counsellor but above all, a person with an authentic human presence and a rich life experience. I have experience working with London mental health charity organisations for over 5 years, IAPT services and the private mental health sector for 2 years. My experience includes but is not limited to dealing with: low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, parenting issues, stress, sleep issues, depression, anxiety, nervousness and loneliness. I have been in private practice for 7 years and during that time specialised in depression and anxiety client work. I have a Masters in Integrative Relational Counselling as well as Masters in Psychology and I am dedicated to my Continuing Professional Development.

This is what some of my clients said about me:

"Connecting with Milena has been one of the top reasons I was able to make a shift in my life, she created the safe space I needed, at the moment I needed it the most. Her grace and warmth helped me navigate the troubled waters I was going through and I left our sessions feeling confident about myself and moved from fearful to eager on what tomorrow brings. Thank you very much for your kinds advices Milena."

"After 55 sessions, I feel more empowered, safe and grounded than I ever remember feeling in my life. Milena has been instrumental in helping me tackle life-long struggles, transform and grow SO much in this time. I'm extremely grateful for her patience and ability to create a safe space, listen and reflect. Would highly recommend her to anyone ready to commit to their self-care and long term growth. Thank you."

Practice description

I understand that the prospect of seeking out therapy can be intimidating and overwhelming. You may feel anxious, embarrassed, or scared about opening up to a stranger. However, it can also be a relief to have someone to talk to who doesn't have a stake in your life and can offer a supportive and non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings.

I'll give you the space and time you deserve to finally get to know yourself, find acceptance for what you discover on your journey and experience the change in return. I might not have all the answers to your questions, however, I can empower you to find your own. It will not be uncomfortable for me to sit with you in your chaos, tolerate your stuckness and walk alongside you through dark places.

If you decide to start the journey with me by your side then you can expect me to help you to:

  • Find a strength to 'get up and carry on' and feel you are listened to and understood when no one else seems to be there for you.
  • Talk openly without fear of being judged.
  • Identify unhelpful coping strategies and replace them with more helpful ones.
  • Recognise difficult feelings and find ways to live with them.
  • Change the patterns of behaviour as a result of emotional triggers.
  • Find a way to release feelings of stuckness.
  • Identify the root cause of your anxiety so you understand why you feel the way you feel, which in turn, can help you to break the vicious cycle.
  • Clear the fog, despair and feeling of hopelessness and find clarity and hope.
  • Improve your relationships.

My first session

I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to help you explore your needs and goals and determine if my services match you. During this consultation, we can discuss your concerns and expectations for therapy and determine whether we will be a good fit to work together. This consultation is confidential, and there is no obligation to commit to further therapy sessions. It is simply an opportunity for you to learn more about me and my approach and to ask any questions before deciding.

During your first therapy session which usually lasts 50 minutes, you will have the opportunity to discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and your goals for treatment. I will explain the nature of a counselling relationship, including privacy policy and confidentiality, assess your presenting issues and past experiences in order to create an effective treatment plan as a first part of the process of change.
