About me and my therapy practice
Sometimes, you may find it challenging to deal with your own thoughts. They can make you feel overwhelmed, anxious, distressed, scared, or trapped, or even lead you to behave in ways you wouldn't want to. I understand that this struggle can negatively impact various aspects of your life, including your social, personal, and family relationships, work, and more. However, you don't have to face these challenges alone. I'm here to help you identify the most suitable solutions that can enhance your quality of life. My goal is to make you feel happier, more confident about dealing with your problems, and more motivated about living your life. I'm committed to helping you improve your self-awareness, gain a deeper understanding of your difficulties, connect with your inner resources, and develop coping skills and strategies that will enable you to overcome your difficulties and become a resilient 'therapist of yourself' during and beyond the treatment process.
I offer evidence-based psychotherapy primarily using the CBT approach. However, when necessary, I also integrate aspects of other approaches. This is to ensure that you receive the best possible benefit from a therapy process tailored to your individual needs, resulting in efficient and long-lasting outcomes.
I always provide a safe and confidential space for you to explore your difficulties and concerns. I adhere to ethical frameworks set by professional bodies and ensure that the therapy environment is non-judgmental and unbiased. I am friendly and empathetic and believe in promoting a warm and genuine atmosphere for your comfort. I also emphasise the importance of establishing a trustworthy therapeutic relationship that can be leveraged to achieve positive treatment outcomes.
Practice description
I am a highly skilled and experienced practitioner of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I am an accredited member of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), which is the primary professional body for CBT therapists in the UK. In addition, I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and the European Association for Counselling (EAC).
I have obtained two postgraduate diplomas in the field of psychotherapy. In 2017, I received a Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from the reputable School of Psychology at the University of East London. Later, in 2020, I completed another PGDip in Cognitive-Behavioural Psychotherapy (CBT) from the Royal Holloway University of London, which is regarded as one of the most prestigious and highly-ranked academic institutions in the United Kingdom and Europe.
I have several years of extensive experience working in mental health settings, providing professional services to a diverse range of client groups. I have worked in various hospitals, medical centres, drug and alcohol services, military campuses, schools, and universities. I have also collaborated with highly accredited organisations, charities, and institutions such as the English National Healthcare System (NHS), MIND, and Change Grow Live (CGL).
I am highly supervised, work closely with other mental health professionals, follow the National Health and Care Guidelines (NICE) and keep up to date with developments in CBT and Integrative psychotherapy practice.
My first session
During our first consultation, a clinical assessment will be carried out, during which I will ask you questions to determine and explore your problems and treatment goals. Additionally, I often utilise clinical questionnaires to measure the severity of your difficulties and guide which therapeutic approaches or techniques will be most helpful and suitable for you. Following the assessment, I will explain the treatment options and answer any questions you may have regarding therapy.
