About me and my therapy practice
We all need support and help overcoming difficulties at different times in our life. I believe the most important aspect of successful therapy is the relationship that is co-created between the counsellor and client. I offer a safe, supportive and empathic space for you to process your thoughts and feelings. Together we’ll go on a journey of self-exploration and discovery to help you gain the clarity and direction needed for change and growth.
Therapy is a very personal process; sometimes it raises painful feelings, so you may go through a period of feeling worse than when you started! However therapy should enable you to feel better in the long run. Usually it takes a number of sessions before therapy starts to make a difference, so commitment to the process is important. Allowing adequate time for a ‘good’ ending to the counselling will be a key part of our work together.
I’m an integrative counsellor which means I draw upon a range of relational counselling approaches and theories allowing me to work intuitively, creatively and flexibly with a wide range of presenting issues.
I'm happy to work with you for a time-limited number of sessions or open-ended longer term work.
I abide by the code of ethics of both the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and also the Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC).
Practice description
I have a private practice at Worcestor House in the centre of Petersfield. I also offer on-line counselling support.
There is parking a few minutes walk from Worcestor House or if you are coming by train Worcestor House is 10 minutes walk from the station.
I am also the Director of a Christian Charity in London offering free support to men and women following pregnancy loss and support when facing an unplanned pregnancy.
My first session
Trying to find a therapist can be a daunting experience, so I usually suggests an initial introductory session. It will be important to discuss what has brought you to therapy, to explore your hopes and expectations and whether we are comfortable working together. I usually review our work together every 6-8 weeks to keep us focused and ensure that you are receiving the support you need.
