About me and my therapy practice

Firstly, I would like you to know you are relevant, you have a purpose and your life matters to me.

Also, that I am proud of you reaching out and asking for help as I know first-hand, how difficult this can be.

So let me keep it simple and tell you a little bit more about me and my practice…

My name is Thomas Brosnan and I am a Psychotherapist and Behaviour Change Expert. I specialise in Addiction and Relationships where for over 20 years now, I have supported the most amazing and beautiful people, because that’s what I believe we all are, to see what’s true about our experience of life.

More than our sessions being about just employing traditional psychotherapeutic approaches, I like to create some space to go beyond the concept and the theory and away from the 'headiness' of it all to have a very heart-to-heart and human conversation.

Here, we will embark on a journey to explore your miracle; what it is that you would love to wake up to where together, we will begin to create a life you love.

We will celebrate your inner-knowing; where you are winning and what you doing that is working while noticing what are up against too. Be that with your health and your energy, at work, in your relationships or even with your living conditions and parenting, to bring to your attention, the innate capacity we all have to be free and to thrive by realising the power of Thought and the role it plays in preserving our well-being.

Practice description

I have a wealth of experience spanning diverse settings including schools, esteemed rehabilitation centres such as the Priory and the NHS, and within the corporate sector too. I bring a unique blend of expertise to the table to help people come home to that place within where they can sustainably, feel safer, secure, and more settled than ever before.

Holding a Masters in Addiction Psychology and Counselling, a Post Graduate Certificate of Education and several other advanced qualifications in relationships and trauma, I am also a Registered Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and an Accredited Practitioner of the Addiction Professionals where given my own research and publications, I am considered to be at the forefront of pioneering therapeutic practices.

I am extremely passionate about child welfare too, and firmly believe that if we do not listen to our children, while simultaneously attending to ourselves, then we are far more likely to have adults who have been unheard and wounded as a result.

This, the reason why I strive to implement, explore and develop early intervention strategies and techniques so there can be an appreciation of the fact that all behaviour is a form of communication.

My first session

From the outset, I ground people in the understanding that we all have that peace, joy, love, confidence and wisdom within; we just create the illusion that we do not and consequently, end up losing ourselves looking for it outside of us in whatever person, place, or thing we think will make us feel better. Sound familiar?

Through such transformative conversations, we will know what we need to attend to and it is imperative that the time is taken to grasp these aspects of life fully.

As we consciously dive deeper into a more insightful dialogue, you will undoubtedly start to notice the fundamental spark of life that surrounds us all and the genius within.

In concluding work with me, clients report feeling free, lighter and knowing what needs to happen. Or as one person so eloquently shared, “I have never felt clearer and am truly excited for the future".

I appreciate you taking the time to read my profile and look forward to working with you

Best,

Tom x
