About me and my therapy practice
My professional experience is in working with survivors of Abuse and Trauma, Narcissistic Abuse, Childhood Trauma as well as Neurodiversity and the LGBTQIAA+ community
I work with PTSD, C-PTSD, sexual abuse, domestic abuse, familial abuse, narcissistic abuse, cult abuse, Autism/ADHD, depression, anxiety, low self esteem, shame, identity, gender-related issues, loneliness, hopelessness, grief & loss, anger, self harm and suicidal feelings, as well as a broad range of other factors and experiences clients bring to their sessions.
I work with the understanding that 'knowledge is power' and the more you understand what is happening to you; the less you fear what's happening to you.
This then enables you to learn to become more resilient and rebuild your life as a happier you, your way, by your rules!
What I offer you is a safe and authentic relationship that is nurtured and grown through compassion, kindness, trust, honesty and acceptance for all parts of you.
I love what I do and have a genuine passion in helping people to heal and get the best out of their lives and relationships.
I have a thriving practice in and around the East Midlands providing both counselling and alternative holistic therapy services, workshops and groups.
I have also been commissioned to design and deliver service user led counselling and well-being services for children and homeless young people in Leicester City that supports young parents, care leavers, looked after children and unaccompanied asylum seekers.
I am also a Forest Therapy Practitioner (Shinrin-yoko) and offer a walk and talk style therapy for those who enjoy being around nature.
Going to see a counsellor when you are struggling with your mental and emotional health, or just with life in general; should feel as natural as going to see your GP when you have a broken toe!!
So let’s remove the stigma surrounding your mental health; counselling is in essence the greatest act of self compassion you can give to yourself.

My first session
In our initial phone call; we will explore in more detail, what has caused you to seek therapy at this time, what your current symptoms are, and look to create a plan to reduce your symptoms so you can at least start having a better quality of life.
We will then look at what you would personally like to achieve out of your time with me; and then review and evaluate our work together every 6 sessions, when it is appropriate to do so.
We’ll look at your current symptoms and consider what other possible sources of support are available to you, to reduce those symptoms, which then enables you to be in a good place to start unpicking and understanding “what happened to you” in a safe and effective way.
I work in a trauma-informed person centred way; which means that I am guided by your process and what you choose to bring to your sessions at any given time.
At the end of the day, you are the expert of you. I am there to facilitate your process and progress.
