About me and my therapy practice
Thanks for looking at my details. I moved to North Devon quite recently and all my clients at present are on Zoom but I am hoping to start seeing people face to face from September 2023.
I was an English teacher (for eight years) and a national newspaper editor/journalist (28 years) before training as a counsellor, so I have quite varied life experience. I love doing this therapeutic work and feel strongly that the connection between the client and the therapist is the most important thing (see first session, below).

Practice description
I am a relationship counsellor who works both with couples and with individuals in an "integrative" way. That is, I use a number of therapeutic models, although emotionally focused therapy (EFT) plays a big part in my work. Every client is different, though, so I can adjust my approach accordingly.
My first session
After a brief telephone chat to discuss what you would like and arrange a session, our first meeting would be for the usual 50 minutes, which gives you the chance to see if you feel comfortable working with me. If not, there is NO CHARGE for that first session. As I mentioned above, a good connection between therapist and client is so important.
