About me and my therapy practice
I work with you; your experiences, feelings, concerns, anxieties, challenges, hopes, and potential. My approach helps to recognise when important feelings are out of kilter and make changes accordingly. Good relationships help us to manage and maintain our mental health through change and challenge. When those are not working for you, my work aims to help you find a way that you can understand and use to navigate life's challenges.
Prior to qualifying as a counsellor I have worked in executive and leadership positions helping me to understand the struggles and stress associated with an ever demanding and insecure workplace. My work in the voluntary sector has given insight and experience with clients from all kinds of background, ability, and life experience.
My work is integrative, this means working with a combination of cognitive, humanistic, psychodynamic, and existential techniques. Those techniques combine to help my clients investigate, learn, and change their situation through working with a defined model. The aim of which is for a person to understand their past, find clarity in their present, and create the best future for themselves. Your own uniqueness, understanding, and potential are what we will work with, at your pace, whatever your concerns or discomfort might be.
AXA PPP Healthcare, Aetna Global Benefits, Cigna, and Vitality Health policy holders can work with me through their insurance.
Practice description
My clinic is at Salomons Estate in Tunbridge Wells and offers a safe, secure place to be for counselling and psychotherapy. There is free parking, catering, stunning gardens and views at this venue for my clients to use too. The additional benefit is that my work helps to fund access to counselling services via West Kent Mind for those in crisis.
When unable to meet in person I offer the ability to work over secure video channels or the telephone. This is different from meeting in person, it can be insightful too. I will share the best way for us to work with you to ensure that our work is as safe and confidential as possible.
My first session
Your first session is free and would begin with some help to get the best from the counselling process, how you might like to work and what you would like to raise, recognise, and resolve. If you are happy to proceed then we will need to complete your registration and find the best day and time for us to work together. It's a very simple process and the most important aspect is that you feel that you have found the help that you need.
Everyone is different and deserves to be treated uniquely, I do my best to match your needs with my training. It takes courage to get started, it might seem a little odd too, so I welcome your questions. We can discuss any aspect of our work together at any stage that you like.
