Practice description
I offer an integrated approach to counselling, listening to your worries and concerns and working collaboratively with you to unpack your feelings and support your emotional wellbeing and healing.
I work with individuals and couples in an atmosphere of calm and respect with no judgment, but by valuing you and what you're going through. I can help in a number of ways, offering:
Emotional support while you unpack feelings and emotions, express thoughts you had held in, face fears that have held you back.
To build better relationships through improved communication skills, conflict resolution, setting boundaries and improving connections with others.
By developing coping strategies to manage anxiety and depressions and to build resilience.
By identifying negative thought patterns or unwanted patterns of behaviour and replacing them with more healthier alternatives for a better more positive future.
By developing your self-awareness to access a deeper understanding of yourself and your world, and to recognize triggers that set you back.
My first session
I know choosing a counsellor and that first session can be daunting so I offer a free and confidential 20 minute introductory call or facetime to discuss your reasons for looking for counselling and how I can help, what your goals might be and also so we can say hello to each other, and I will explain the the practicalities of parking and location.
In our first session I will ask you to complete a brief assessment and possibly set some goals for therapy or simply say what you would like to get out of our sessions together.
I will then talk you through my Shared Agreement, which sets out how will work together and confidentiality.
Our first session offers the opportunity for us to get to know each other and for you to see if you are comfortable talking to me, our therapeutic relationship and connection is very important for you to get the most out of counselling, so I want you to feel comfortable with me.
