About me and my therapy practice
Welcome to my practice Flourish Therapeutic Counselling.
My name is Stephanie and I am a Person-Centred Experiential Counsellor and Psychotherapist, awarded a first class honours degree in this area.
Experienced in working with a diverse range of issues and difficulties; I have many years of experience supporting individuals in third sector organisations, charities, education, medical practices and am currently employed as a Mental Health Practitioner for an international company.
I have a strong faith that person-centred therapy is effective in bringing about real change and personal growth within people and feel passionately that everyone has the potential, with this support, to live their better life.
During our sessions, I provide a safe, relaxed, confidential space to explore your emotions, concerns and past or current experiences. I will support you in developing the confidence to make your own way forward in the direction you choose.
I realise that opening up to a stranger can be daunting. I feel in this respect; a key strength of my practice is my natural ability of allowing people to feel at ease in our space. Above all, I believe our therapeutic relationship is the key to growth, supported by my skills, experience and qualifications.
I encourage you to work at your own pace and assure you that will receive my full warm, nurturing presence during each and every session. You choose how many sessions you want to have and how frequently. I conduct my work in person, online and over the phone, which has proven to be an effective, convenient option for therapy sessions.
Receiving professional support during difficult times allows us to show kindness to ourselves. We may discover things that have remained out of our awareness that can change how we think and feel now, and in the future.
We don’t have to let the past dictate the future.
If you feel ready to take that first step, I hope to meet you soon.
Practice description
I provide therapy in-person from my dedicated therapy room at home or via online or phone sessions. Working digitally is a popular, widely utilised, convenient and accessible option for all, especially those who have difficulty with travel, feel isolated, or live in remote areas.
My first session
It is normal to feel nervous or apprehensive about your first session. We are new to each other and our relationship is key to you feeling secure and safe. Therefore it is vital that you feel I am the right therapist for you. As a result our first session can be one of the following options:
Either
a 15 min introductory phone call (free)
or
a 1 hour session (£50)
It depends on whether you would like to start therapy straight away or chat with me first to see how you feel. You are under no obligation to continue therapy further if you do not wish to.
To start therapy straight away, I need to explain what therapy involves so you are fully informed. This will be done in advance of our first meeting.
Just know that whatever you are feeling, from nerves to excitement, is normal and experienced by so many others who have gone on to heal and grow from their therapy.
