About me and my therapy practice
My name is Katherine and I am a BACP registered (Accred.) counsellor having completed a Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling.
There are many counsellors and therapists who you could work with and I am aware it can be difficult to find the right fit. I consider myself to be empathetic and incredibly curious about others. I am interested in hearing your story and your journey.
We will think together about what you are hoping to achieve through counselling and work together to reach this. By working together I hope that we can help you process difficult experiences which may be holding you back at the moment. By the end of our time together I hope you will feel empowered and transformed.
Practice description
Counselling is about providing a safe, confidential, non-judgemental space for you to talk about your concerns. I will not give you advice or tell you what to do but together we will explore possible options or solutions.
I know it can take time to build up trust and rapport within the counselling relationship. I appreciate that for some it may be daunting to talk to someone who doesn't know anything about them and for others it may be easier. We will take the counselling at a pace which feels comfortable for you.
I have always been fascinated by other people's stories and I recognise it is a privilege to be able to be a part of yours. I am incredibly passionate about mental health as I believe it is just as important as physical health and that the two are intrinsically intertwined.
I look forward to working with you.
My first session
If you are interested in pursuing counselling with me then we will have an initial consultation to determine whether or not I am the right fit for you, and this gives me the opportunity to understand a little about why you are seeking counselling at this time, and what you are hoping to achieve through counselling. The initial consultation will last 50 minutes and the fee for this is £50. It may be necessary to have a second initial consultation appointment but this will be discussed during the first appointment. Ongoing sessions between 10am - 4pm are £45 and sessions between 8am - 10am and between 4pm - 7pm are £50. I am able to offer a concessionary rate of £30 to students or those on a low income. These sessions would be online via Zoom.
I also offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation if you are interested. This would give you an opportunity to explain what you are hoping to gain through counselling and for me to advise what I can offer you.
