Practice description
I have an office in Bromley, a discreet comfortable private space or sessions can done over zoom video.
As a trained psychodynamic therapist, my approach involves delving into your inner world to uncover how past experiences, particularly from childhood, shape your current emotions and behaviours. We can look at how past experiences influence your current behaviour and emotions. I am a wam and relational therapist that offers you have the freedom to choose what you want to talk about. If you find yourself in silence, I’ll gently check in with you to see how it feels. Sometimes, silence is a useful space to gather your thoughts before continuing. Other times, it might feel uncomfortable or awkward, and that’s okay. We’ll work together to decide when you might need a little support to keep going.
My work is also informed by attachment theory, we examine how early relationships influence your interactions and relationships today, working to untangle and refine these emotional blueprints for healthier connections. I have a special interest in in trauma and dissociation, my trauma-informed practice acknowledges the impact of your experiences, treating emotional responses as normal reactions to extraordinary events. Maybe you hide parts of you from others for fear you will be misunderstood. All parts of you are welcome to therapy!
I also work with Therapeutic Writing with clients drawn to this approach. Writing for wellbeing goes beyond journaling. In therapy, it becomes a powerful tool for self-discovery. Explore emotions, gain new perspectives, and process challenges at your own pace. Whether writing a letter to your younger self, or crafting a story that reflects your struggles, this approach empowers you to express what might be difficult to say out loud. I offer Therapeutic Writing as an option for clients who find written expression helpful. Writing can take place within your therapy session or written between sessions.
My first session
The first session is a chance to meet each other and see if you feel we could work together, it is important that you feel safe and comfortable with your therapist. There will be time to ask any questions or concerns you may have. You can then book ongoing sessions if you would like to.
