About me and my therapy practice
My name is Katrina Young, I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor based in Stoke Gifford, North Bristol. I offer sessions online, by telephone and in person at my office or at your home.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), following their ethical framework. I am also fully insured and I am registered with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO).
Working as an Integrative therapist means that I have a good understanding of how to help clients through life’s many ups and downs with a flexible skillset, whereby our sessions are tailored to suit you, as the individual. Whichever approach we employ, my work is underpinned by Humanistic, Person-centred therapy - a non-authoritative approach that allows you, my client, to take more of a lead in our sessions.
I understand that there are times when life can feel too much to handle, not knowing which way to turn or how to move forward. It can feel isolating and confusing, but knowing that you don't have to go through it alone is important.
I can listen and empathise with you. I can provide a non-judgemental environment where you can feel free to talk about your difficulties in a confidential space. I can support you in reflecting, exploring and understanding your difficulties, no matter how big or small.
I have supported people who have experienced anxiety, low self-esteem, low confidence, depression, work stress, relationship issues, loss and bereavement to name a few.
I accept you fully and have no wants or expectations of you - my goal is to help you discover what is best for YOU. In coming closer to understanding who you are, we can talk about what you want in life and then I will support and empower you towards realising your potential.
If you are stuck and need clarity and confidence in making changes, I can help you.
My first session
The first session is a chance for us to meet, see if we are a good fit, and get a feel for a counselling session with myself. In this session, we can explore what you like to bring and achieve from counselling sessions, we can set some goals together. I also can tell you more about my approach and how I can support you.
The first 'taster' session is free and is normally lasts around 20mins long.
Sessions after are £45 online and telephone and £50 for in-person. If you prefer a home visit this would be £50+ depending on where you like the sessions etc.
