About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome! Are you looking for a deeper connection with yourself and others? Do you want to feel more confident and self-accepting? Would you like a clearer sense of purpose and direction in your life? My practice is all about nurturing self-compassion, understanding and empowerment.
If you feel held back by certain thoughts and beliefs about yourself, or overwhelmed by distressing emotions such as anxiety or depression, counselling could help.
I believe that ALL emotions are valid and natural responses to lived experiences, including trauma. I aim to offer you a supportive space where you can feel and process your emotions, without judgement or advice.
My hope is that through our work together, you will learn to listen to yourself and discover your own inner capacity to face life's challenges.
As a person-centred counsellor, I will offer reflections and observations to help you uncover your own inner wisdom. I recognise that each client is unique, and might choose to work in different ways. I therefore offer online or phone counselling, creative counselling or walk and talk therapy.
In counselling, you can talk about whatever you feel is important and at your own pace. You will not be made to talk about anything you do not wish to discuss. We will have regular reviews to reflect on how the counselling is going, whether you are finding it helpful and if you wish to continue.
I understand that the prospect of starting therapy can feel incredibly daunting, especially if you have never tried it before. However, for many people it is the most important step they take in their lives, so why not take that first step of reaching out today to find out if this is for you?
Practice description
I offer individual online and phone counselling to adults across the UK.
Online sessions take place via Zoom- an accessible and convenient option which can fit around your schedule.
With online counselling, I offer the opportunity to work creatively with art materials, images and symbols. If you are interested, I usually suggest we introduce this after a few sessions, so we can build trust and see what themes emerge to explore creatively. A few examples of the types of exercise which can be helpful include timelines, self-portraits, family trees/ genograms, working with nesting dolls, to name a few!
All sessions take place on a regular basis, usually weekly or fortnightly (though this can be discussed if your needs are different). When you begin counselling, there is no expectation to commit to a minimum number of sessions. We can work in an open-ended way, and continue until it feels the time has come to end.
Issues I work with:
Bereavement & loss
Pregnancy/birth- related issues
Anxiety & stress
Depression
Trauma
Self-esteem
Self-development and finding direction
Spiritual/existential issues
Loneliness
Identity issues
Neurodivergence including Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia
My first session
If you are interested in starting counselling with me, we can have a brief discussion either on the phone or by email/text about the issues you are facing, and what type of counselling you would like. I will then let you know my availability so you can book an introductory session. You will also be emailed the contract to sign, plus details about how to pay.
The first session is an opportunity to get to know each other and decide whether we are compatible, and whether I am able to offer you the right support. I will ask you to tell me more about what has brought you to counselling, and what you hope to gain from our work together. We will discuss how we might work safely and effectively together, and will explore the contract.
Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have more questions, and I will do my best to assist.

About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome! Feeling a bit overwhelmed and unsure where to start? Hopefully this blurb will enable you to decide if I might be the right therapist to help you...
Would you like to feel more confident? Are you looking for a deeper connection with yourself and others? Would you like a clearer sense of purpose and direction in your life?
I believe that in the right conditions, we can thrive- not just survive. However, sometimes unresolved issues and trauma, self-limiting beliefs and overwhelming emotions such as anxiety and depression can be a block.
I aim to create the right conditions so that you can explore what may be holding you back.
I believe that ALL emotions are valid and natural responses to lived experiences, including trauma. I aim to offer you a supportive space where you can feel and process your emotions, without judgement or advice.
My hope is that through our work together, you will learn to listen to yourself and discover your own inner capacity to face life's challenges and pursue your dreams!
As a person-centred counsellor, I will offer reflections and observations to help you uncover your own inner wisdom. I recognise that each client is unique, and might choose to work in different ways. I therefore offer online or phone counselling, creative counselling or outdoor therapy (sometimes known as walk and talk or eco-therapy).
In counselling, you can talk about whatever you feel is important and at your own pace. You will not be made to talk about anything you do not wish to discuss. We will have regular reviews to reflect on how the counselling is going, whether you are finding it helpful and if you wish to continue.

Practice description
I offer individual counselling to adults across Staffordshire and the UK.
Online and Phone Counselling
Online sessions take place via Zoom- an accessible and convenient option which can fit around your schedule- in the safety and familiarity of your own chosen private space.
Once your online appointment has been confirmed, you will be emailed a link to join the session. With phone counselling, I will call you at the agreed appointment time.
I am trained to deliver counselling online and by phone, and am experienced in both. You may be surprised at the depth of therapeutic relationship that can be built when working in these ways!
Outdoor Counselling
Being in nature can be a great way of connecting with yourself. This type of counselling allows you to experience the freedom of being outdoors, whilst being held within a nurturing space.
Physical movement, mindfulness and engaging the senses can all bring shifts in perspectives, creativity and a deeper intuition.
Outdoor sessions take place in a variety of beautiful countryside locations surrounding one of the villages near Newcastle-under-Lyme. Tailored to suit your needs and preferences, sessions can involve a gentle or more challenging walk, sitting still- or a mixture of both.
If you choose outdoor therapy, we will begin with at least one online session to assess the suitability of this type of therapy and discuss how to make the sessions work best for you.
Indoor Counselling
I now offer in-person sessions in The Therapy Shed- a warm and comfortable space in my garden with an outdoorsy feel!
Creative Counselling
Clients working online or in-person may like to explore the power of art to understand and express their emotions. I can discuss this with you at our first session.
Issues I work with: anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, grief, life direction/purpose, self-esteem, trauma, perfectionism, spirituality/faith, loneliness, people-pleasing and more.
My first session
If you are interested in starting counselling with me, we can have a brief discussion either on the phone or by email/text about the issues you are facing, and what type of counselling you would like. The first session(s) is an opportunity to get to know each other and decide whether we are compatible, and whether I am able to offer you the right support. I will ask you to tell me more about yourself, significant life events and what has brought you to counselling, including what you hope to gain from our work together. We will discuss how we might work safely and effectively together, and will explore the contract.
Sessions are then regular at a set time each week, though this can be flexible if needed. We work on a session-by-session basis; you do not have to commit to a certain number of sessions and can continue until you no longer need therapy support.
Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have more questions, and I will do my best to assist.
