Availability
I currently have some availability during week daytime and maybe evenings. You can contact me and arrange a convenient time for us to meet, talk about your concerns, and how I can support you in therapy.
About me and my therapy practice
I’m an experienced Psychodynamic Counselling Therapist drawing on Psychoanalytic, Integrative and Relational approaches to therapy. I believe in the importance of analytical theories, whilst also using an intuitive approach. The uniqueness of each person’s life involves an equally unique way of moving forward.
Therapy in person is usually the most effective way to work. For some, online video counselling can be just as good, particularly if you live outside UK, or are anxious about social distancing.
Either way, I'm here to hear you ....
Practice description
I’m a fully qualified counsellor. Having trained at The University of Hertfordshire from 2008, I completed a two-year diploma course in Psychodynamic Theory. I furthered with independent training until 2014, then going on to successfully achieve a more advanced two year Diploma in Psychodynamic Theory and Practice at The Counselling Foundation in St. Albans.
I continued training with Middlesex University, gaining an accredited qualification in 'Together For Wellbeing’ in their Support Training Programme.
I worked for three years in the NHS, Hertfordshire Partnership Foundation Trust, supporting patients with a multitude of mental health and personality conditions.
I worked with clients at The Counselling Foundation in Luton from 2014 to 2020, and now operate a private counselling practice in Hemel Hempstead.
I also have a B.A. (Hons) Degree in Design and Applied Arts (1998).
My first session
I generally offer in person sessions, and we can proceed on that basis, unless you do prefer online. Feel free to call or email so we can arrange an initial meeting to talk more about your needs in therapy.
I will respond and suggest one of several time / days so please let me know which suits. The initial session fee is £45 and the cost of our regular sessions can be decided during this meeting. I charge between £60 (concessions ) to £75, and we can agree the amount based on your ability to pay, within these parameters.
There is free parking available in the street.
When arriving, you can go down the steps in the front garden, to the right of the house. You will see a wooden side door. I will come to let you in. Therapy time is 50 minutes. Please do not arrive earlier than the appointed time as I will be unable to answer the door.
The office where we will be in session is located in the back garden and there are some steps.
I look forward to hearing from you soon if you wish to arrange an initial consultation.
