Availability
I currently have availability for online sessions and in person sessions at a local clinic in Rugby. My appointments are during the evening throughout the week, and some mornings on the weekends.
About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified counsellor who specialises in working with teenagers and young adults. Teenagers and young adults can face problems that can be challenging for them and it can be difficult to know who to turn to. Sometimes talking to family can be hard for teenagers as they often don't want to upset or worry their family. Talking to someone completely separate from their everyday life can sometimes be helpful and can take away the burden of holding everything in.
During the counselling process, I will provide a safe, judgement free environment to support you or your child to express thoughts, feelings and experiences.
I am a registered member of the BACP and I work within their ethical framework.
In everyday life we do not always get a chance to check in with ourselves and process our feelings and experiences, having someone separate from everyday life to listen and support you can be very helpful. You must find the right counsellor that you feel you can connect with and feel comfortable with.
Over the past 5 years, I have worked in schools providing 1-to-1 support, group work and delivering workshops. As well as providing counselling and therapy for children and young people, I also work in the NHS as a Mental Health Practitioner.
Practice description
Everyone is different so I adapt our approach depending on how you like to express yourself. I can offer person-centred counselling if you need space to process past experiences and emotions, or we can take a solution-focused approach with CBT if you need more techniques and to challenge the way you think. Sometimes a combination of both is appropriate.
I have worked a lot with anxiety, including panic attacks, social anxiety and exam anxiety. I have also supported young people struggling with low mood, self-harm, bereavement, trauma, anger, low self-esteem, stress, social difficulties, parental separation and school avoidance. I also have a lot of experience working with neurodivergent children and young people.
What I can help with
ADD / ADHD, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Child related issues, Depression, Health related issues, LGBTQ+ counselling, Loss, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Sexual identity, Stress

CBT, Humanistic, Integrative, Person centred
