About me and my therapy practice
I am a BACP registered counsellor/psychotherapist experienced in working with adults, couples and families in the UK and internationally. I work either online via video link or face-to-face at my private and peaceful practice rooms in Thorndon, Mid-Suffolk. By offering an empathic and non-judgemental therapeutic relationship, I enable clients to explore what is going on in their lives, helping them to process their thoughts and feelings and to move positively forward. My clients can look at aspects of their lives that they might ordinarily hide knowing that they will be accepted unconditionally and feeling secure in the knowledge that whatever they talk about will be treated with confidentiality.
I have an MA in Counselling and a Post Graduate Certificate in Person-Centred Counselling Skills, both from the University of East Anglia. I am also qualified as a couples/relationship therapist. My approach to therapy is predominantly person-centred as I believe that people know themselves best and, given the right support and conditions, have an innate capacity to thrive. My job is to provide a strong and caring therapeutic relationship in order to help them to do this.
Practice description
I provide short or long-term therapy for individuals and for couples or family members who may be experiencing difficulties in their relationships.
My counselling practice is located in Thorndon, a lovely village in Mid-Suffolk. The counselling room is very comfortable and private, overlooking green fields and is large enough to accommodate several family members. I am also very experienced in using video-link in order to provide counselling for people who either live too far away or would simply prefer this.
Individual sessions: £50
Couples/family sessions: £70
My first session
During our first session we will discuss what has brought you to therapy and what you are hoping to gain from it. We will also talk about how it might work for you and think about a time frame although this will, of course, be flexible. I will also answer any questions you might have about the therapeutic approach that I use.
The relationship between counsellor and client is one of the main factors in successful therapy so I will suggest that before booking a second session you give yourself a few days to think about whether I am the 'right' therapist for you. If you decide that it does feel right for us to work together you can then contact me via email or telephone and we can arrange a regular time and day of the week that works for you.
