About me and my therapy practice
If you've got to this stage of looking for a counsellor you've probably already made the first step of what can be one of the bravest decisions around wanting things to change and reaching out for help.
The type of counselling I practice is based around an integrated model which gives me a lot of flexibility in the way I work, as I know that everyone and their experience is unique. The focus of our work together would be to help explore and understand how you are feeling, and to look deeper into what may be hidden beneath the surface. This may bring up some uncomfortable emotions which I will support you through, whilst also sensitively challenging when I think this might be helpful.
TRAINING

EXPERIENCE
As well as working with clients from all walks of life for many years at the Banbury therapy centre I spent two years supporting victims of domestic abuse within the Oxfordshire domestic abuse service (ODAS), and I also currently work to support those in the homeless pathway. This has given me a lot of experience and knowledge of working with a wide range of mental health problems such as anxiety, depression, relationship problems, low self-esteem, stress, OCD, bereavement, self-harm and trauma.
Practice description
At any time we can find ourselves struggling to cope with everyday life. It could be something from the past that has always been in the shadows, or perhaps a recent event that impacts on our emotional and physical wellbeing. Whatever the problem, talking and working things through in a non-judgmental, safe and supported space can really help.
Experiences, both in the present and the past may be negatively affecting how you feel, act and relate to both yourself and others, so the aim would be to help raise your self-awareness, develop greater clarity, and explore relational patterns with a hope to increasing your well-being, resolve the difficulties you are experiencing, and attain greater agency over your life.
I can offer both short and long-term therapy and offer both online and face-to-face sessions in Banbury, Oxfordshire.
My first session
Our first session would be a chance for us to meet and make an initial assessment of your needs to ensure we would be a good fit for each other. The cost of this initial session would be £40 for 50 minutes.
