About me and my therapy practice
If you are visiting this page then there is a good chance that something in your life isn’t working out so well.
I offer you the opportunity to work out what is wrong and figure out practical ways to develop a new relationship to yourself and others. To address challenging issues, figure out your fears, to channel your creativity and change the frustrating behaviours that may be inhibiting your progress in life.
Like many people, my therapeutic journey began with a lot of doubt, scepticism and confusion. It was a scary and difficult step to begin with, but having made it, it continues to be rewarding in ways I could never have imagined. If you are willing to put in the work, then together we can arrive at a place where life feels more than good enough.
Practice description
It is my belief, that your own ‘will’, that which naturally aims towards health and wellbeing, is the source of all that is healing in psychotherapy.
My approach recognises your individual uniqueness, addresses your issues as your issues, as unique but not separate or detached from the rest of the world.
Despite the uncertainties of a rapidly changing environment, the issues we face as individuals remain essentially the same. Relationships remain the core of who we are, representing both our greatest struggles and our greatest achievements.
As my practice has grown I have found myself more and more addressing men’s issues, from both the male and the female perspective. Issues around regulation of anger, difficulties showing affection and finding intimacy in relationships, concerns around sex and sexuality and difficulties tuning into oneself emotionally. Our struggles with emotional intimacy can affect us at many levels and at different times in our lives and a psychosynthesis approach aims at appropriately regulating and integrating our emotions into our daily lives.
My first session
As part of an initial assessment we will explore what has brought you to therapy, as well as what aims, expectations and goals you have for the work.
We will go through the necessary formalities, some general housekeeping such as the ethical guidelines we will work by and our working agreement. Importantly, it will also be an opportunity to get to know each other as two people curious to explore and make sense of whatever difficulties or problems you are struggling with.
