About me and my therapy practice
I’m Alex, an Integrative Therapist providing Counselling and Psychotherapy in the heart of Marylebone at 96 Harley Street, just off Regent’s Park.
There can be many reasons for seeking support. Whether you’re experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, feeling overwhelmed or questioning the direction of your life - therapy offers a non-judgemental space to work through the challenges of life.
As someone who has been both a client and now a therapist, I have experienced the benefit of talking with someone who's neither a colleague, friend or family member. They can sometimes offer well intentioned support whilst assuming that they know how we feel and be quick to offer advice.
Therapy isn’t about assumptions or advice. It’s about having a confidential space to explore why your life feels like it does and offers hope for change.

I work in both an Integrative and Relational way:
- ‘Integrative’ means that I draw from a variety of different therapeutic approaches. Every one of us is unique and so my approach matches that to meet your personal needs.
- Being ‘Relational’ reflects my belief that we can heal and grow through a trusting relationship. The trust serves as a healthy model for future relationships with others as well as yourself.
Whether you’re looking for brief or longer-term therapy, my intention is that you can understand your own wants and needs as well as discover not just who you’ve become, but new ways of living. It's my hope that each client I work with can understand and use their natural strengths and abilities to flourish in life.
Past clients have described me as warm, understanding, affirming and respectfully challenging.
I offer a Neurodiverse and LGBTQI+ inclusive space.
Practice description
I have experience working with a variety of different issues including depression, anxiety, self-esteem, work-related stress, Neurodivergence (inc ADHD, ASD & HSP), Boarding School Syndrome, sexuality, gender, physical illness (inc cancer), trauma, life transitions & retirement, and relationship difficulties. I have also worked with many clients who are creative performers such as actors, dancers, singers and musicians.

Psychotherapy is my second career. I spent over a decade working in the feature film and television industry in both London and Los Angeles. I have lived in the USA and Ghana and I also have family in New Zealand so understand the challenges of living with long-distance family support.
I identify as being Neurodiverse with a diagnosis of ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder) and was one of the first people to be diagnosed in the UK. I am deeply committed to the acceptance and promotion of Neurodiveristy. I host an interview-based ADHD podcast called ‘Sorry, What Was The Question?’ that explores the lived experience of extraordinary everyday people living with ADHD.
Alongside being a therapist, I’m an ICF Professional Coach and Mental Health First Aid Instructor.
I am a registered member of and adhere to the BACP code of ethics. I qualified with a Post-Graduate Diploma (level 7) at The Minster Centre, the UK’s leading training institute for Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy.

My private practice is within 96 Harley Psychotherapy at the top end of Harley Street. There is a light and comfortable waiting room, should you arrive early. My recently refurbished practice room is situated on the lower-ground floor and provides a calming space in which we can explore what may be troubling you. Additionally, filtered water and toilet facilities are available.
My first session
To ensure that you feel comfortable and confident in making the right choice of a therapist, I offer an initial session which lasts 50 minutes. During this time, we can discuss what brings you into therapy and what you would like to achieve.
The initial session is also an opportunity for you to ask me any questions you may have and I will talk with you about how we may be able to work together to best support you.
The fee for this session is £125 and is paid by online BACS before the session.

- In your message, tell me a little about your reasons for seeking therapy and any possible hopes. Please also include your phone number and the best times to contact you.
- Once I receive your message I will endeavour to respond within 48 hours. We will set up a time for a brief phone call and I will discuss some of the practicalities of therapy. You can ask me any questions you may have during this time as well.
- Off the back of the phone call and subject to both our availability, we will confirm a time for our initial session.
- During the initial session, we can discuss what brings you into therapy and what you would like to achieve and decide together if we would like to continue and set a time/day when we will met on a regular weekly basis.
