About me and my therapy practice
I am a Registered Member MBACP. A graduate in Humanistic Counselling and Gestalt Therapy since 2015. I have worked for a few charities, services as well my private practice.
I believe the 3 most common reasons people are drawn to therapy are ANGER, SADNESS & BS*. BS* being a Belief System. This belief system could one you were taught by somebody else or one you created is not serving you. The top 2 of those being Enough or being Unlovable. I'm not enough. It's not enough. Nobody will love me. Parents partners myself. I offer safety and support in the unbearable. Guidance in your discovery and unpacking of baggage.
I use creative methods: art, body work, play therapy and nature. The Gestalt approach is a talk therapy with some principles certain principles. Here and Now focus. Whether you go into the past or the future how it connects to NOW for you.Naming the obvious. Which can be through Patterns, Narratives, Connections and Associations. You may or may not be aware of. We might use some creativity as a tool way of gaining awareness or expression. That can be through body work which is using the voice, movement and body sensations. As body remembers what the mind doesn't want to. Sometimes art, play and writing. I would suggest these in a moment when I think it would help.
I do Walking Therapy in Parks and by the River Thames. Currently in Twickenham. Richmond. Wimbledon. Battersea Park. Thames Path. The elements, weather and scenery help for grounding and peace.
My areas of interest are:
- Childhood Abuse
- Authenticity/Identity
- LGBTQ.
- Mixed Backgrounds/Cultures.
- Trauma & PTSD.
- Breavement and Suicide Breavement.
- Family Dynamics.
