About me and my therapy practice
About Therapy
If you are seeking counselling and psychotherapy at this moment in your life, it may be because you are dealing with a specific issue or going through a particularly difficult phase for which you need support.
Therapy can also help you explore long-term emotional patterns and behaviours that stand in the way of living a more fulfilling life, richer in meaning, authenticity, aliveness, joy, and deeper connection to yourself and others.
About Me
I am an integrative embodied psychotherapist, providing a supportive, contained and safe space within which to explore what might feel difficult, unsafe or troublesome, whether in the past or at this very moment.
As we work together, I aim to understand and connect with your story, giving you room to bring and share all aspects of yourself – your grief, loss, anger, heartbreak, despair as well as your longings, dream, hopes and joy - at a pace that feels right for you.
Our sessions can help you process any residue from the past, develop new coping strategies, be inquisitive, and experiment with new ways of being with yourself and others. My commitment to you is that I will be alongside you in a respectful, empathic, and non-judgmental way.
My Approach
I work in an integrative and holistic way, tailoring my approach to your specific needs and what you want to achieve from therapy. I also work relationally, which means that our relationship is central to the counselling process, while honouring individuals differences and embracing diversity.
In addition, I have experience supporting recovering addicts working a 12-Step program.
Location
I see clients in Walthamstow, East London (E17) and I can offer both short and long-term counselling. Sessions offered in English & Greek.
Practice description
My practice is based Walthamstow, a 5-minute walk from the Overground & Tube station.
From Oxford Circus – Victoria Line (20min)
From Liverpool Street Station – Overground Train (17min).
My first session
The first session is mostly exploratory, giving you the opportunity to expand on the reasons why you are seeking counselling at this moment in your life and what you expect to get out of it. There will also be plenty of space for your questions and to discuss the practical aspects of working together such as the fee, frequency, cancellation policy, confidentiality etc., which will form the contract for all future work.
This first meeting is also about getting a feel of what counselling is like, whether it is something you would like to commit further, and whether you think I am the right therapist for you. Even if this is not the case - or I consider that your issues may better served by someone else - I would be happy to recommend different colleagues and offer you other useful resources.
