About me and my therapy practice
Hi, my name is Diane, I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor and I offer face-to-face counselling from Marsden near Huddersfield, or I can work remotely via Zoom.
I work with people with a wide range of issues including grief, loss and relationship problems, but I specialise in working with people who have experienced trauma or abuse.
In my work, I believe the relationship between counsellor and client is really important. From my own experience of counselling, I know that I would have found it hard to open up if I didn't trust my counsellor. Because of this, I work hard to help people feel at ease, I aim to provide a compassionate presence, where you can feel safe enough to explore your thoughts and emotions without judgement.
As everyone is different, I welcome people who want to have an initial chat to find out how counselling works or to consider whether I might be the right counsellor for you.
Practice description
I offer face-to-face sessions in Marsden, I also offer remote sessions over Zoom or the telephone. My fees are £50 for each 50-minute session and I offer concessions for Trainee Counsellors.
I am an experienced counsellor, having qualified in 2018. Although I work in Private practice now, I have worked in several settings including WomenCentre, where I provided specialist Domestic Abuse Counselling, Mosaic II where I provided counselling for people who had experienced Sexual Abuse, and Change, Grow, Live where I provided counselling for people with addiction.
Before I became a counsellor I had almost 20 years of experience in supporting people, this included teaching at a Further Education college, Supporting people with substance addiction and being a Deputy Project Manager at the Women's Centre. All of these roles taught me that life can be difficult and that people's circumstances can change in a moment. However, they also taught me about the importance of non-judgemental relationships, and just how much they matter.
My first session
I understand that the relationship between the client and the counsellor is really important, sometimes it can just be useful to get a feeling of what it might be like talking to the other person before you commit to working with them.
Because of this, I offer a free, 30-minute telephone consultation without any obligation. This session gives you the chance to ask any questions that you might have, and for us to get to know each other a little better.
I can understand that it can be difficult reaching out for the first time, but please be assured that anything you say will be treated with kindness and respect.

About me and my therapy practice
Hi, my name is Diane, I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor and a qualified Clinical Supervisor. I work in private practice from Marsden near Huddersfield. I can also offer remote supervision remotely.
I work with the Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision, I aim to offer a space where you can explore your work in a supportive environment. I believe that the relationship between the Supervisor and Supervisee is incredibly important, and I welcome an initial informal conversation to see if we fit together well.
Practice description
I qualified as a counsellor in 2018, my base modality was (and still is) Person-Centred Counselling. However, since qualifying, I have also attended training in Working with Trauma, Walk & Talk Therapy and Creative Techniques, I integrate all these ways of working into my practice depending on the needs of each client.
My previous counselling experience has also included working with men and women who have experienced sexual abuse, providing specialist domestic violence counselling, providing counselling for people who have experienced substance addiction, and working with loss and bereavement.
As a supervisor, I aim to provide that same safe space that I provide for clients, I feel that it's important that supervision is somewhere that we can go and take the whole of ourselves and feel safe to look at all aspects of our practice, whether they are the areas that we want to celebrate or those that we want to work on.
My first session
Before we start to work together, I offer a free 30-minute informal chat so that we can have the chance to get to know each other a little better and see if we 'click'.
Just as in counselling, I believe in the importance of the relationship and I welcome you asking me any questions that you might have to see how we might work together.
How I deliver therapy
Long term sessions, Online therapy, Short term sessions
