About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified, Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist, specialising in stress, anxiety and low self-esteem.
I hold a degree in Psychology (BScHons), a Certificate in Person-Centred Counselling and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Leeds.
I practice from an Integrative perspective which combines a grounding in the person-centred approach with theory from CBT, psychodynamic therapy, neuroscience and existential therapy. My practice is trauma informed with a deep awareness of somatic and mindfulness based approaches. I blend different theories and models to tailor therapy to the individual client.
I work in an open, empathic and non-judgmental way to build a trusting relationship, from which a process of growth can occur.
I have worked with a wide range of people to help them better understand themselves, their relationships and life experiences; learn about their feelings, choices and behaviours and, where appropriate, make changes to their lives.
Practice description
Counselling and Psychotherapy can help you to gain a better understanding of who you are, the experiences which have shaped you and the beliefs and behaviours which may be affecting your life. This level of self-awareness can help you to find acceptance and/or the resolve to make changes to your life.
Through a process of exploring thoughts and feelings, attending to unconscious processes and gaining clarity around how our past shapes us, we can begin to heal our wounds, unmask our true selves and find ways to live our most authentic and fulfilling lives.
I offer private Counselling and Psychotherapy online and in-person. Sessions are 1 hour and cost £60, payable by transfer in advance of the session.
The therapy I offer is open-ended, generally lasting between six sessions to one year or more, depending on the concerns and goals for therapy.
My first session
The first step is to arrange an introductory assessment session, to provide an opportunity to get to know each other, discuss the issues which have brought you to therapy and agree a way forward.
If you have any questions, would like to arrange a free 15 minute call or book an introductory session please email me and I'll get back to you asap.
