From our first contact I offer you a totally confidential service with a dedicated phone and e-mail address.
You will find that I am a caring, empathetic friendly counsellor with a professional approach who is committed to your individual growth and sense of true wellbeing. Sometimes we all have issues that we need help facing, working through, and overcoming. It might be an overwhelming life event, a crippling trauma, a transition, or life changes that may be hard to move past, or accept.
As your therapist, I will provide a safe, confidential, non-judgemental environment in which we can work together to better understand and resolve any challenges in your life. if you choose to work with me, the work will be focussed on the issues you bring, with the understanding that we will not simply examine the issue in total isolation but as a part of your world, seeing it in the wider context of your life and history.
Practice description
In my practice I work to an integrative approach which allows me to progress at your pace applying Humanistic, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) principles. The integrative counselling approach acknowledges that you are a unique individual and that different people have different needs and no one single approach is sufficient.
I have a number of years of experience in dealing with adults who have experienced difficulties in a wide and varied range of issues including; addiction, bereavement, relationship issues, anger management, depression, anxiety, abuse, low self-esteem, sexual issues, low self-confidence, child related issues, stress, work related issues, trauma, bullying
My first session
I fully appreciate that attending Counselling for the first time can be daunting and you may feel apprehensive at the thought of sharing your thoughts, fears and challenges with a stranger.
I offer you an initial chat on the phone as a helpful introduction, we can then arrange your first session. In this session, we will go over the nature of counselling and confidentiality and I can answer any questions you may have. We will then begin to explore your concerns and how we can work together.
