About me and my therapy practice
Would you like to talk in confidence about the thoughts that are rattling around your head; are you wanting someone to hear and fully understand what you have to say but not judge?
I know it can be really hard to even think about talking to someone unknown, but if you're considering getting counselling support, please know I'll do my best to make it as straightforward as possible.
I do this by providing transparency, safety, trust, compassion, cultural sensitivity as well as respect for the "leap of faith" you're taking in contacting me.
I offer this because I've learnt, through my professional (counselling since 2017) and personal experiences, that these elements make the process of sharing your thoughts and feelings easier, particularly if you've been keeping them to yourself.
They also allow us to quickly create a strong counselling relationship that makes the process of working through the issues that bring you to counselling and towards the goals that important to you, easier.
Sessions are one to one, confidential and last 50 minutes.
I offer an optional free introductory telephone call lasting 15 minutes; a chance for us to get an idea of how we might work together and for me to address any questions/concerns you have.

Practice description
I reply to all enquiries within 48 hours. Sometimes my replies end up in spam/junk folders so please take a look there or get back in touch if you haven't heard from me.
Once we're in contact, we'll briefly discuss what you're looking for from therapy.
We can either do this in a phone call, which usually lasts around 15 minutes and is free of charge or over text/email.
There's never any obligation to book but if you feel comfortable you'll have the option to arrange an initial, one-off, 50 minute session. There's more information about this below.
Therapy to fit your needs:
I'm a BACP Accredited Integrative Counsellor. Being integratively trained means that I always adapt my way of working to meet your needs.
You dictate the pace at which we look at the issues you're facing as well as what we focus on. For example, if you'd like strategies for managing anxiety.
You choose if sessions are online or face to face.
Online: I use Zoom's secure video conferencing technology for online appointments. You'll receive an information sheet about how online sessions work and I'll send you a link for our session once I've received payment.
This allows you to have regular one to one support from the comfort of your own familiar environment, whenever its convenient for you and without any time being lost to travel.
If you feel you'd benefit from some in person sessions in addition to online, we'll work together to agree a "hybrid" schedule.
Currently, in person sessions are offered from a counselling room in Wickford (SS12), Essex.
Call or text 07484 160971 or email info@anjali-leverton.co.uk.
If I'm unable to take your call please leave your name and number and let me know when would be a convenient time for me to call you back.
If I'm unable to take your call please leave your name and number and let me know when would be a convenient time for me to call you back.
My first session
Each session lasts 50 minutes and costs £55 payable in advance, by bank transfer.
Whether online or face to face, the first session is a chance for us to meet and get to know each other. It's an opportunity for you to share details about what you're finding challenging and what you're looking for from counselling.
I'll tell you a little about how we can work together and the confidentiality that applies around our sessions.
Towards the end of the first session we'll discuss how this initial time together has felt and we'll agree the next steps between us.
There will never be any pressure to re-book as you feeling comfortable and having a counsellor that feels like the right fit for you will always be the priority; my job is to make accessing that support as easy as possible.
