Practice description
I offer my work currently online, with the beginnings of work in and around York/Wetherby/Knaresborough/Harrogate - I find online work as effective in most circumstances.
I have had a practice in Bristol for many years but closed it during the pandemic. Contact me for updated information on this as I still remain available on occasion in the South West.
I may have a waiting list but please do not be put off.
My first session
I offer a low cost introductory meeting for £35. The relationship between us is a vital one, so this is a great time to feel into the potential 'fit' between us and tell me what you are seeking. I hope to give you a sense of what we may cover together if you decide to continue with me, but it's not a therapy session. That first meeting can be daunting, so it can be reassuring knowing at first you are just telling a bit of your story and asking questions of me.
Once we start, the therapy will be a mix of talking and sharing, techniques such as body based exercises or more creative tools, as your journey unfolds. We may use blankets and cushions, art materials, standing or lying down as much as sitting and talking. You will always be in charge of what happens, there is no one size fits all. Online is exactly the same and surprising how effective it is. Sometimes we can mix online with in person sessions.
I don't offer a formal assessment, as psychotherapy unfolds in its own time. However many of my clients would describe my range of tools as 'transformational' in quite a short time. And if you want only short term counselling, that is fine. Most of my clients stay for longer however.
I offer an initial 8 week contract so you can feel if to continue beyond then.
What I can help with
Abuse, ADD / ADHD, Addictions, Anger management, Anxiety, Bereavement, Cancer, Child related issues, Chronic fatigue syndrome / ME, Cultural issues, Depression, Disability, Health related issues, Identity issues, Infertility, Loss, Personal development, Post-traumatic stress, Pregnancy related issues, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Sex-related issues, Sexual identity, Spirituality, Stress, Trauma, Women's issues, Work related issues

Availability
I am available on Wednesdays and some Fridays for supervision.
I am mainly online currently.
I currently have some space for new supervisees.
About me and my therapy practice
I offer creative, psychotherapeutic supervision, to both trainee and qualified therapists. I have over fifteen years experience and qualifications in supervision. It is an important supportive relationship and one I enjoy sharing with fellow therapists.
I have a vast experience of supporting therapists who work therapeutically with children and young people.
I use various styles of supervision - eg. creative arts and sandtray ( if meeting face to face) can highlight deeper clinical issues such as transference, and blocks in therapy ; the seven eyed model (Hawkins) can help ensure all aspects of practice are addressed ; relational methods can ensure you are able to use the supervision for what are more transformational aspects (see eg Robin Shohet). It is an active relationship and I always value feedback.
Online supervision works equally as well as in person so we can arrange a mix of meetings if suitable.
My supervisees would probably describe me as supportive, robust, enlightening, safe, educational and growthful with some playful aspects thrown in.
