About me and my therapy practice
Hi I am Sharie,
I trained as an Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and I draw upon Transactional Analysis, Person Centred Therapy and CBT approaches, it is important to me that the sessions are led by the client's needs.
The first steps to counselling can be daunting with feelings of doubt or fear entering into certain places which may or may not feel comfortable for you.
We can all feel 'stuck' in our every day lives without the knowledge to put into practice or sometimes the courage to say "I want this to change" or "I want this to stop". I am here to walk along side you on your journey and with the skills I have enable you to feel supported. With my non judgemental calm approach you can explore whatever challenges you are facing in order to facilitate change and personal development.
As a mature therapist, I utilise a range of counselling methods in order to best meet your needs and requirements.
My experience at present as a therapist is wide ranging - working in a cancer charity with loss, grief, bereavement, illness and the impact of it upon relationship.
I have also been a therapist for two Women's Centres, working with individuals all over the UK.
In addition I have worked as a Parenting Practitioner for over 20 years.
I offer an informal 30 minute conversation (via Zoom) This is an opportunity for you to establish if I sound like somebody you would like to work with, and for me to establish if I have the correct skill set to meet your needs.
Practice description
Session are online. I offer individual weekly therapy Monday - Fri
My first session
My assessment process involves either, a free 30 minute initial consultation. Consultations are conducted online via zoom or face to face. This is an opportunity for you to establish if I sound like somebody you would like to work with, and for me to establish if I have the correct skill set to meet your needs.
Beyond this, our first session will be used to establish what you want to achieve in therapy.
There is also a small amount of paperwork that will be sent to you to fill in before our first session. .
