I currently have a number of morning, afternoon and evening online slots available. Please contact me for further information.
Online appointments offer a greater range of session times, and more flexibility with the frequency and regularity of sessions. They also allow me to reach those clients who do not feel able to come to my therapy room.
About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified, BACP-registered, person-centred counsellor offering online face-to-face therapy. I practice in a warm, supportive, empathic and non-judgemental way, to safely and confidentially identify, explore and understand the specific issues that are troubling you, and work with you to resolve them.
Are you struggling with life's challenges?
People come to counselling for many reasons. They might be struggling with stress, anxiety or panic attacks, having family or relationship issues, social worries, health concerns, bereavements, and/or work-related problems. Life for them might feel overwhelming and hopeless, they might feel alone, lost, trapped, and directionless... with a loss of identity, purpose and future.
The recent COVID 19 pandemic, and rising cost of living has also increased stress-levels and produced many grief responses, as we have been forced to adapt to a new way of life. We have suffered losses of freedom, finance, confidence and connections, as well as the loss of loved ones and, perhaps, the chance to say goodbye.
Talking to a trained professional can help to process these emotions and make them feel more manageable. As the saying goes, talking helps!
I have worked with clients who have come to therapy for all the above reasons, plus the following: anxiety, generalised anxiety disorder, panic attacks, panic disorder, stress, depression, feelings of sadness, low mood, low self-confidence/self-esteem, unwanted thoughts or fears, bereavement, fertility problems, relationship problems, family issues, parental burnout, work-related issues, work burnout, accident/illness, and difficulty coping with a past event.
HOW COUNSELLING CAN HELP
Through life’s tough times you might feel that you need a different kind of support to that which your family/friends can offer. Counselling can offer you a confidential safe space to re-evaluate your past and/or present concerns with a trained professional and work to resolve them.
Practice description
HOW I WORK
I aim to find the best way of meeting the individual needs of every client and offer empathic and non-judgemental listening. I believe the quality of the relationship between the client and counsellor is key to healing, and so work to build trust, mutual respect and the desire to work in partnership during my sessions, supporting, respecting and valuing my clients as I do so.
I see each client as ‘unique’ and aim to understand what life is like for them personally – to see the world/their concerns through their eyes and from their perspective. By exploring my clients troubles together in this way, in a supported therapeutic relationship, we can identify any negative thinking or patterns of behaviour, process any difficult thoughts/emotions, put any worries/fears into perspective, and enable clients to feel better able to cope and in more control of their life.
I work with clients for varying lengths of time, and tailor my approach to each client’s needs. I allow them to work at their own pace, and help them find their own meaning.
