About me and my therapy practice
If you need to talk I’m here to listen. I’m a friendly and approachable Person Centred therapist. I work online providing UK wide counselling services via Zoom & phone. How can I help you?
At times life can be very challenging. If you need to talk things through with an experienced professional do get in touch. I am by nature a good listener, empathic and non-judgmental. I believe it essential that you feel valued, heard and understood.
Please note I work individually with adult clients.
Counselling professional :
I’m a qualified Person Centred counsellor with over seven years full-time experience & a good track record of success. Registered with the BACP, I am committed to working ethically to provide the highest standards of counselling for clients.
My values and character - I’ve always had a strong drive to help and heal people. I hate seeing any living creature in pain. It’s very rewarding to see clients making progress and having successful therapeutic outcomes. Its great to see someone smile & laugh again. I’m naturally empathic and genuine.
Sessions last for 50 minutes. I charge £60 per session.
We all have our unique story and unique experiences, yet I have often found recurring themes arise in the therapy room that have affected many of us at one point or another - for example issues around feeling overwhelmed, anxiety, depression, loss, bereavement, loneliness, work, stress, health, self-esteem, being stuck, relationships etc. While these issues can leave us feeling isolated, they’re much more common than you may initially believe. Counselling gives us the opportunity to examine what exactly is causing you distress and help you to find resolution.
I'll support you so that you can develop the right approach for your unique situation. I aim to help you strengthen your resilience and ability to cope, resolve inner conflict, and overcome obstacles.
Practice description
The majority of my work is provided on line via Zoom. Phone counselling is also available via WhatsApp. Additionally, If you are local to Bridgwater, Somerset I can offer face to face sessions.
Is this the right therapy for you?
Is Person Centred therapy right for you? - Person Centred therapy can be highly effective for a client who wants to discuss, explore and understand. I believe that we all have great potential and more inner resources than we realise, but it can often be difficult to access this by ourselves. Person Centred therapy can help you gain new insights into your problems and how to solve them. I aim to help clients develop the ability to withstand adversity, effect positive change and bounce back from difficult life events.
Person Centred approach compared with the medical model of therapy
Person Centred counselling offers a distinct approach to mental health treatment compared to the medical model. While the medical model often focuses on identifying underlying biological or psychological disorders and prescribing medications or therapies to treat them, Person Centred therapy takes a more holistic perspective.
Person Centred counsellors emphasise the importance of individual agency, self-awarenesss, and the inherent potential for human beings to heal and flourish. They believe that individuals have the capacity to understand and address their own challenges with the support of a non-directive therapist. Rather than focusing on diagnosing and treating specific conditions, Person Centred therapists create a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. This approach can be particularly beneficial for individuals who feel that their mental health concerns are not adequately addressed by the medical model, or who seek a more personalized and empowering approach to therapy.

N The sessions I had with Alex at Green Lodge were invaluable to helping me through a period of severe depression. Very professional and encourages a constructive mindset in a relaxed trusting environment. Thank you for your help Alex really appreciated.
C I have been having therapy for over a year with Alex and was reluctant to do so as most men are!
My symptoms and triggering are all but gone thanks to Alex and his guidance and tools enabling me to become aware of my actions and feelings.
I would recommend Alex to anyone. His style of relaxed self-healing therapy and insightful skill and deep knowledge suited me perfectly. Thanks Alex.

At times life can be very challenging. Most people I speak to who are going through hard times want to be heard and understood. They are looking for empathy not sympathy, acceptance not judgement, support not criticism. I recocognise most people are looking for help in finding their own answers, not being given lots of advice.
I am by nature a good listener, empathic and non-judgmental. I believe it’s essential that you feel accepted, heard and understood.
Please note I work individually with adult clients.

About me and my therapy practice
I'm a friendly and approachable Person Centred therapist. I provide counselling for adult clients on a one to one basis. If you need to talk and are looking for an experienced counselling professional, please do get in touch.
There maybe times in life where we face issues we can't resolve on our own. Clients often tell me how refreshing it is - & how much better they feel - being able to talk in confidence to a private counsellor. Having separation from friends and family can take the pressure off of the situation. Therapy is a place where we can discuss, explore and understand. This can help you make sense of your experiences, and how you feel about them. Rather than give you advice, I'll support you in developing your own unique strategies and solutions to your unique situation. Therapy often feels like a journey. I take that journey with my clients with empathy, understanding and acceptance.
My values and character - I am by nature a good listener, empathic and non-judgmental. I believe it’s essential that you feel valued, supported, heard and understood.

Being a counselling professional, I am a registered member of the BACP. As a person centred therapist, I'll support you so that you can develop the right approach for your unique situation.
