About me and my therapy practice

If you are need to talk I'm here to listen. I’m a friendly and approachable counsellor working online providing UK wide counselling services via Zoom & phone. How can I help you?

I am by nature a good listener, empathic and non-judgmental. I believe it’s essential that you feel accepted, heard and understood.

Please note I work individually with adult clients.

Counselling professional:

I’m a qualified Person Centred counsellor with over seven years full-time experience & a good track record of success. Registered with the BACP, I am committed to working ethically to provide the highest standards of counselling for clients.

My values and character - I’ve always had a strong drive to help and heal people. I hate seeing any living creature in pain. It’s very rewarding to see clients making progress and having successful therapeutic outcomes. Its great to see a client smile and laugh again.

My friends describe me as down to earth, caring & genuine.

Your choice:

You have the choice of having sessions via Zoom or phone. More recently I've noticed the majority of my clients prefer online counselling via Zoom.

Supportive session atmosphere:

The atmosphere of our counselling sessions is friendly and informal. You’ll have a confidential & safe space to talk. You choose what you want to discuss. You choose how much you want to share. We work at your pace.

Practice description

Is this the right therapy for you?

Is Person Centred therapy right for you? - Person Centred therapy can be highly effective for a client who wants to discuss, explore and understand. I believe that we all have great potential and more inner resources than we realise, but it can often be difficult to access this by ourselves. Person Centred therapy can help you gain new insights into your problems and how to solve them. I aim to help clients develop the ability to withstand adversity, effect positive change and bounce back from difficult life events. Clients often say they feel so much better to be able to offload - I wonder if you feel like that?

Uniqueness and shared experience:

We all have our own unique story and experiences. Indeed, Person Centred therapy comes from a humanistic tradition which values each of us as the unique individuals we are. Additionally, I have often found common themes come up in the therapy room that may have affected many of us at one point or another - for example issues around feeling overwhelmed, anxiety, depression, loss, bereavement, loneliness, work, stress, health, self esteem, being stuck, relationships etc. Counselling gives you an opportunity to explore what is causing you distress and help you find resolution. Clients often report feeling better when they recognise:

· A sense of progress

· Feeling heard and understood

· They work well with their therapist

· Gaining new coping skills

· Starting to experience positive changes in their life

· Feeling better able to manage their emotions and behaviour

· Feeling empowered and more in control of their life

My first session

Getting started:

We get a chance to meet each other in our first session. It's a great opportunity to see how we feel about taking a therapeutic journey together. Collaboratively we'll look at how we work together - things like appointment times, how frequently you would like sessions, fees and confidentiality. I'd like to hear about what has brought you to counselling, and what you would like from counselling.

I usually suggest trying a session and see how it feels. If it feels right for you we can book in further sessions. There is no obligation to continue if you didn’t think I was the right counsellor for you.
