About me and my therapy practice
MSc., Clin. Dip. Integrative Psychotherapy, Metanoia Institute
I am a qualified, UKCP registered, Integrative Psychotherapist. I have a private practice, offering short-term and long-term counselling and psychotherapy for individuals.
I work with people experiencing various life challenges and difficulties such as stress, anxiety, depression, low self-worth and self-confidence, family issues, relationship difficulties, health concerns and work-related issues - as seen in the press https://www.cosmopolitan.com/uk/worklife/careers/a37937296/what-is-imposter-syndrome-meaning-test/
Drawing on both my professional background and many years of rigorous study and practice of psychotherapy, I have cultivated a capacity to listen and think at a deep level, enabling me to ask precise questions through compassionate challenge and respectful inquiry. I combine these skills with a warm, perceptive and empathic manner which can enable you to develop greater awareness, insight and opportunities for change.
Professional experience
I have been trained in a range of psychotherapeutic approaches and am able to tailor my way of working to fit your specific needs. I draw on developmental, relational and analytic approaches looking at the patterns we get stuck in and how these relate to our past experiences. I have experience of working with clients from all walks of life and social and cultural backgrounds. I have also worked in corporate environments for over 20 years, across a range of sectors. From my time working with Board Members and Lawyers in a national firm, I have first-hand experience of the psychological pressures working in a demanding, high-achieving, professional environment can bring.

About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced Integrative Psychotherapist and Supervisor in training. I completed my Msc in Integrative Psychotherapy with the Metanoia Institute and am currently completing a Diploma in Supervision Practice with CSTD (Centre for Supervision and Training and Development), Bath. My supervision training is based on the ‘Seven-eyed Model’ of supervision (developed by Peter Hawkins and Robin Shohet), which views the work through different ‘modes’, for example, thinking about the client, the supervisor's interventions, and the relationship between the client and the supervisor.
As a therapist, I integrate concepts from developmental and relational perspectives, and my practice is grounded in humanistic values (i.e. empathy, compassion, constructive challenge, curiosity, anti-oppression and diversity). I also consider the significance of the wider context (e.g. cultural, familial, historical, religious and social factors), the client’s inner healer (informed by transpersonal Jungian thinking) and the challenges of existence (drawing on Yalom) that come together to influence the human mind, body and spirit. For more information about my approach, please see my UKCP and BACP profiles.
Much of how I work as a therapist is also transferred to my work as a supervisor. I hold the view that effective supervision is a joint, collaborative endeavour, where supervisees are supported and encouraged to enhance their practice and maintain ethical standards to best support their clients. I offer a safe, non-shaming space for you to openly explore how you practice and to identify your needs (including blocks and challenges you may be experiencing) for continued growth and development.
I offer online supervision to individual counsellors and therapists at all stages of their career at a reduced rate of £35 for each hour of supervision while I am in training. Fees will increase after qualification.
