About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative Psychotherapist, Supervisor and Drama and Movement Therapist with 20 years' post-qualifying experience. I offer sessions online (trained with the Online Therapy Institute), in person in North London, and on a hybrid basis.
When we face indecision, confusion, bereavement, pain, anxiety, anger - all that it is to be human - often our instinctive reaction is to turn away from the feelings; to try to escape from them or to brave them out, telling ourselves, "I'll deal with this on my own". We can become very adept at escaping, through work, exercise, relationships, alcohol, substances, so many options - some more socially acceptable than others!
The more we practice our chosen method of escape, the sense of brave independence hardens into isolation, where we shut down the parts of ourselves that feel love and joy, and disconnect from those around us.
My treatment plan and therapeutic approach are structured around what the individual client needs. I have a background in working with clients experiencing intense crisis, combining creative tools with a cognitive approach.
I work in a collaborative, relational way, and where useful, share my intervention processes with the client - to become a fellow explorer of the client's past and present, so as to clear the trodden path and begin to shape a new future.
I offer a free confidential phone or video call if you would like to connect while deciding whether to book an initial consultation.
What you seek is seeking you - Rumi

About me and my therapy practice
I am a trained clinical supervisor for counsellors, psychotherapists, and arts psychotherapists.
My supervisory approach is integrative and, when useful, I can incorporate creative tools to facilitate greater understanding of the client work. As a member of both the BACP and the HCPC (UKCP pending), I am familiar with both codes of ethics. I am able to support supervisees through challenging situations as a result of my supervisory training, and also from my own experience of working with many different client groups and supervisory approaches over the past two decades.
My starting point, should you wish, is to take a personal and professional history from you as my supervisee and to get to know your ways of working. My view is that the supervisory relationship is about not only my clinical responsibility for your clients, but also to support your development and individuation as a therapist. I will be looking to understand your gifts and challenges, to gently encourage where there are edges or areas to develop, and to provide a safe space to unpack your client work.
If I am solely clinically responsible for your clients, I can also take on the clinical executor role for you or advise you on other providers.
Supervisees are given access to a members page on my site, where I share resources and tools related to supervision and private practice for psychotherapists and dramatherapists.
For therapists in their first 300 hours post-qualifying, supervision sessions will need to be scheduled weekly, and after that, supervisees may opt for fortnightly or more frequently.
