I currently practise on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, during daytime hours only.
About me and my therapy practice
I offer face-to-face, telephone and online support with a range of issues, such as relationship struggles, anxiety, depression and low mood, low self-esteem, big life changes, loss and bereavement, stress, work-life balance - to name a few. I also offer face to face sessions outside, where we can talk whilst walking in nearby natural spaces.
My core training is in Transactional Analysis psychotherapy, which provides practical approaches to understanding ourselves in relation to the situations we find ourselves in - so there is some emphasis on self-exploration.
I will work with you to explore whatever problem you're facing and to find the way to some relief. Then if you wish, and if relevant, we can do some work to discover the root cause of the problem.
I often share knowledge and information with clients, so that you have some tools to help yourself now and, if needed, in any future difficult situation.
How we think and feel about ourselves very often affects our relationships with others. I believe we can all increase our awareness, make fundamental changes to the way we live our lives, and improve how we relate to ourselves and others.
I feel passionate about watching my clients use this awareness to make new decisions, and to develop resilience and a more positive outlook.
If you think this sounds like what you're looking for, please contact me to arrange a free telephone consultation.
Practice description
My practice is about collaborating with you to find solutions to problems, through learning more about yourself. I offer support along the way, as we recognise how your experience has shaped your unique perspective.
Outdoor work allows us to acknowledge and utilise the role nature plays in our wellbeing, and explore our inter-dependent connection with the natural world. Moving outside can often stir us in ways that help the therapeutic process - whatever issue you bring.
My first session
However we meet; by phone, online or outdoors our first session is really a chance to get comfortable with each other, and I will be focusing on putting you at your ease. There is a useful frame in that I'll be noting information about your current and past experiences of health, family history and self care. Clients often comment that answering questions in these areas helps them to open-up gradually and comfortably. We may focus-in a little on certain areas, so the session will feel like we've started therapy, rather than solely information gathering.
We'll also discuss how we will work together, drawn up in our therapy agreement.
What I can help with
Anger management, Anxiety, Bereavement, Child related issues, Cultural issues, Depression, Loss, Men's issues, Post-traumatic stress, Pregnancy related issues, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Sex-related issues, Sexuality, Stress, Trauma, Women's issues, Work related issues
Types of therapy
Behavioural, Existential, Humanistic, Integrative, Relational, Transactional analysis
Clients I work with
Adults, Couples, Groups, Older adults, Young people
